<p>Is the education truly different at UCLA than at, say, UCSD? Or Merced? Why is UCLA so much more highly regarded to than most of the college in the UC system?</p>

<p>Well, I am pretty sure the kids at UCSD are just as bright as those at UCLA. I would say the quality of education is comparable. However, you just cannot compare these two schools to a school like Merced-yet. Merced does not have the venerability that those other two campuses have established over time. </p>
<p>The quality of education definitely drops significantly when one looks at UCR and Merced. I am sure the other UCs experience a drop, however not a drastic one.</p>
