Hi! I got into UC Davis for the Business major(with honours). Davis launched a new business program this year. Does it provide opportunities for finance and management? I’ve applied to Irvine aswell, how does it compare to that? And which school is better overall in academics and holistically?
This seems like the kind of thing you can easily research - and that you would have researched before you even applied.
They say:
After completing core business classes, business majors choose to specialize in one or two of the following areas:
-
Accounting
-
Finance
-
Marketing and Business Analytics
-
Management and Strategy
UC Davis has long had an MBA so business isn’t new to the school. They might have had undergrad classes too. Both Davis and Irvine are fine schools. You should pick the one where you fit best or who has the academic tracks that fit you best. You will be there four years, day after day. Irvine is coastal - so beach access relatively close with Laguna Beach and more. Davis is inland near the state capital. It’s a bike friendly place.
Irvine has a reputation of being a school where many leave on weekends but many are coming from far too so I’m sure plenty stay.
Have you visited ?
There’s no bad choice but there may be a better choice for you.
@Ana08: Here is a sample 4 year plan for the UC Davis Business major and the UCI Business Administration major for comparison purposes:
DS is in the same boat…trying to evaluate UCD (Business major) against his other options Linking my post from a different UCD thread, describing our experience at UCD….hope this helps. Good Luck.
