*****uc davis class of 2020 decision thread*****

Accepted for Economics!! 4.0 Unweighted, 4.3 weighted. 31 ACT

Ok, so if I accept my place on the waitlist it’s entirely non binding right? Like I could go and accept an offer from another school, and even if UCD comes back and accepts me I don’t HAVE to go there?

DD was waitlisted. Did Davis have alternate majors? I don’t remember (I’m not that involved). And how would that work with the waitlist? Also I thought cal and ucsd hadn’t released yet. Why do some folks already know?

got into biochemistry!

What sort of things would be good to say on the waitlist’s 200 words?

@3toLaunch UCSD rolled out a few batches of decisions last night but some people got a message on their portal saying to check back March 30th or something along those lines.

Is it possible to switch my major and how difficult would that be? I was accepted under Bio Sci but I really want to switch to International Relations or Econ @coffeelife

@charlie31798 Congrats on your acceptance!! I recently got accepted too!! I WANT YOUR MAJOR. I regret choosing Bio as my major. I would be so happy with Int. Relations ! What do you plan on doing with that ?

Anyone with Honors Program?

I was accepted for cognitive science with Regents/honors!! I’m super excited!

@hssenior245, Yes you can accept a wait list offer and choose another school. UC encourages that because wait list does not guarantee admission.

This is from the UC website:
“Yes. In fact, we highly recommend students who have been admitted to either a UC campus or another college or university accept that offer since a waitlist offer is not a guarantee of admission later.”

@coconutproponent Were you notified of your regents status in an email?

@augustina37 It says I got it on both the portal and the email they sent me

I got in for biomedical engineering!! SO EXCITED!!

@vrivna I dont think that you will have any problems at all. Its pretty easy to switch majors, add on a double major or add a minor. Just make sure to keep your grades up( def. a 3.0+) and don’t fail any classes, since they look at that when you try to switch colleges. I added another major (3.7ish GPA) after my first quarter and I didn’t have any problems.

Tip to all of you guys: If you didn’t get into UCD honors college, there is ONE chance to get in freshman year. The honors college application is invite only, so if you have a 3.5+ you will probably get invited to apply!

Question: how do you find out if you get into the honors college?

@cuhopeful16 I mean, I don’t know for sure; but from who I know that got accepted Davis honors, it was pretty easy to spot (probably on the first page- aka the admission decision page).
