[/ul]General Comments/Additional Information:[list]
Davis was my first choice because it’s close to home, relatively laid back compared to some of the other UCs, and offers a good environment for premeds. But they really skrewed me over in terms of financial aid/ scholarships, even compared to other UCs (essentially full rides at Merced, UCLA, UCSD). Kind of debating what to do now, I’d still like to come here.

For Future Applicants: It’s still possible to get accepted to Davis with relatively low stats, but it’s becoming harder and harder each year, especially this year with so many 4.00 plus students getting denied. Get your grades and test scores well into the ballpark (higher the better of course), and from there, focus on presenting meaningful activities outside of school.

I’m going to Decision Day on April to check UC Davis out, but did anyone go to the local Meet N Greet? I’m curious to what it was like. How was it?

Is it hard to change your major? After applying I looked more into the majors and found out I like Animal Science instead of Animal Biology but if it’s hard to change majors it’ll be easier for me on deciding what college to go to

Did anyone know that UC Davis is ranked as having some of the best food among all American universities?

@rekiahh: My son loved the DC’s on campus. If he had a choice, he would live on-campus all 4 years and eat in the DC’s all the time. They try to embrace the Farm to Fork philosophy, so the menu’s will change seasonally.

I heard changing your major is fairly easy at Davis, but I’m not 100% sure on that. I’m planning on touring again, so I’ll let you know what they say!

If I can’t make it to decision Davis, could I get the same info if I toured another day?

@Soniab98 They have special tours for admitted students with a discussion section on campus life. Haven’t actually been to one so can’t tell you how useful they are.

Anyone going on the Aggie Student Weekend?!
How about Decision Day?!

@rekiahh yep…I’m going with my family to check out the campus & get info on Decision Day.

Wish I could go. No way my mom would let me drive 7 hours to Northern California for a tour. Makes it so much harder to pick a fit school…

@dtdbull20 Awesome!!! Do you live in the Los Angeles area? I was wondering how many people might be flying out from LAX

I got in to UC Davis
GPA- 3.29 UW/3.59 W
AP World History (D) AP Language © AP Literature © AP US History (B)
SAT 1390
ACT Very Low. I actually left the testing center because I was tired and got bored.
40 Community Service Hours
My personal statement was really good in my opinion.
Im thinking about going to community college or a Cal State Fullerton. UC Davis is too far from me. It is 7 hours away. They did give me good financial aid. If I accept I want have to pay anything.

SHOULD I ACCEPT THEIR DECISION? PLEASE HELP. I DIDNT GET INTO MY DREAM SCHOOL SO I BUMMED ABOUT GOING TO COLLEGE STILL.

General Comments: Trying to decide between UCSB and USC

@JevonneUSC: Have you visited UCD? I would not make a decision if you have not visited. I also noticed that you applied as a Theater major? UCD is a great college town, but may not be a good fit so you really need to check it out for yourself. Sacramento is 1/2 hour away so flying home is pretty easy. My older son flies into Southern Cal via Ontario airport since we happen to be around 7 hours away. If distance is a factor, then it might be better to say closer to home and attend CSUF or a CC. Congratulations on the great FA.

I am absolutely obsessed with UC Davis now!

@rekiahh I actually live in the SF Bay Area

Is the welcome reception a casual or formal event?
