UC Davis Class of 2028 Official Thread

D24 denied
Thought she had an “okay” shot at UCD, with UC-capped weighted 4.12 (unweighted 3.8), and strong ECs plus employment history, but alas it is not to be.

Has acceptances with good merit money from Willamette and Lewis & Clark on the West Coast … and also from Clark University and UMass Amherst on the East Coast. Waiting on other UCs and SDSU and CalPoly. :grimacing:

Accepted for Theater! This is a top choice for her but still waiting for other decisions. Can she apply for housing though? There is an intent to register form that must be filled out as well so wondering if you must enroll/commit before entering the housing process? This is different from other schools that allow you to pay a small housing application fee but sign up right away. Thanks for any info on this

Wondering same!

Yes, you must SIR to sign up for housing. Davis has plenty of housing for freshmen. Assignments are random so there is no need to worry about putting down a deposit early.

How to Apply for Housing

Incoming freshmen who are admitted for fall quarter will receive a housing contract offer after submitting their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). The housing contract offer will be sent within 24 hours of submitting the SIR. Once received, students may begin the online housing application process. An email invitation will also be sent to students following their SIR.

Housing Guarantee at Davis

Freshman Students

Housing is guaranteed for all incoming fall-quarter 2024 freshman students.

Freshmen will be housed in on-campus residence halls. Freshmen must be under the age of 24 to qualify for guaranteed housing. Freshmen aged 24 and older should contact Student Housing and Dining Services for their housing options.

Freshmen living in the residence halls during their first year at UC Davis will be offered on-campus housing in residence halls or apartments for their second year based on availability.

Congratulations!

Just FYI (and for the benefit of others posting stats too), “UC Approved Honors courses” is a catch all category that includes courses marked as AP, IB, and DE, as well as courses that are simply “Honors” where this designation is UC approved. So it looks like there were actually a lot of UC Honors classes, more than 0 anyway

If the student attended a CA HS, you can see which courses are marked as Honors on the UC/CSU a-g list.

Same thing for my D, dream school, but never said it out loud or determined it to be the dream school for fear of rejection; she’s very happy there now.

Thank you! I thought honors was different because some schools have honors classes too. I will update my post.

Rigor was medium. A couple honors classes in college prep high school.
She has strong hook with extensive volunteer work related to her major.
