Do Regent scholars still get priority registration? Someone who is at Davis and applying for the Honors program says they ended priority registration for honors.

I know that UC Santa Barbara no longer gives priority registration to Regents and Honors college students. I am not aware that UC Davis ended the priority registration also.

The Honors college website still states that priority registration is available to the Honors scholars.

  • What does priority class registration mean?
  • UHP students register during the first day of registration for fall, winter, and spring quarter during their first-year on campus. This does not include On-Campus Admits.

I may be mistaken then? I’ll ask my friend (her child is a freshman and applying to the Honors program now) about it the next time I see her.

9 posts were split to a new thread: UC Application Review Process & UC GPAs

If you look at the FAQ section I listed on my post about the Honors college, it states for Priority registration that This does not include On-campus Admits so if applying as a current Freshman for Sophomore year, priority registration is not a perk but I would get that statement clarified.

Thank you. Unfortunately, my reading comprehension skills have declined over the years.

UC Davis RD Results Survey 2025:

This form is for tracking decision results, so it’s all centralized for future students. If you could fill this out once you get your decision, that would be very appreciated!

You can see all other people’s individual responses in the links above, along with overall form statistics (such as what percent got accepted).

S25 also denied for Comp Sci. Disappointing, but not heartbroken, since he was accepted for CS at 2 of his 3 of his top choices (so far, still waiting on the 3rd one).

I’m a senior in HS! These numbers are just something I really wanted a few months ago when I was still in the application process (I’ve already committed) as my school doesn’t have Naviance or anything like that, and it’s just interesting information to me as well.

This may help others considering applying next year. My daughter was accepted as a Political Science major:
UW GPA: 3.88
Capped UC GPA: 4.23
Uncapped UC GPA: 4.32
Total of 7 AP’s (3 currently) and 3 Dual Enrollment. Some “advanced” courses at her school but they don’t count as honors credt.
She was on school paper for 3 years. 10th as writer. 11th as news editor. 12th as lead editor. Also did volunteering at food bank, involved in some clubs etc.
She’s a talented writer and I believe her essays probably were a key factor.
