UC Davis Class of 2030 Waitlist and Appeals Discussion

Any update on the waitlist movement?

My D26 (in state) was admitted off the wait list this afternoon for biomedical engineering. So the wait list is definitely moving.

Congratulations do your D. Is Davis still in the mix and how long does she have to respond?

Yes, it is still in the mix, and she has until May 1st to commit. She signed up for a last minute admitted student visit. She is happy to be admitted, but annoyed that she didn’t get to go to Aggie Day!

Is this just a small wave? Haven’t seen anyone else mention they got off. Seems like the first UC waitlist movement this year. Congrats to your daughter!

seems to be small yeah, in total i’ve only seen 3 so far

Congratulations! Can you please share stats?

UC GPAs: 3.97 UW, 4.24 CW, 4.48 FW.
ELC: yes.
25 semesters of UC Honors, 9 AP courses (5 in all that have scores)
Typical “average excellent” ECs, with strong ECs for major.

Congrats she deserves this! Thanks for sharing  did she get an email?

Yes, she got an email. She was so surprised to see it that she almost dropped her phone.

It is a bummer as their non-Aggie day admitted tours are otherwise very basic. No housing or dining or recruitment effort like other universities do for admitted students. We did sign up for a college/department tour and attended today and that was phenomenal and 1:1.

Do any of you remember that Tom Petty song? :musical_note: The waiting is the hardest part…:musical_note: Assuming no buzz means nobody off the waitlist since May 1, yes?

Congrats!! Do you mind sharing her stats and how long she has to decide? Will she commit? Best wishes

Thank you!

She has a 4.2 W, 3.9 UW, 11 APs plus pre-calc honors, one community college course, strong ECs, leadership in multiple school clubs, hospital volunteering, ELC.

She is likely to accept (debating between UCSB and UCD) since she wants to take the pre-med path. Also, my older one is a graduating Aggie and he has had a wonderful experience at Davis.

Hi, my daughter who is waitlisted just told me that since the day she was waitlisted she has had a message saying she will be notified “on or around july 15th.” I was wondering if everyone got this message? It seems odd.

Is the major wave post SIR already over? It seemed like only a few people got off for engineering majors prior to May 1st but nothing since then. My son is waitlisted for biomedical engineering. He has 3.82uw, 4.19 UC capped gpa, 4.45 weighted, 8APs, couple DE classes, 3 year varsity bb, Cosmos bioengineering summer program, good PIQs and decent extracurriculars with Med explorer club leadership etc at local hospital. Davis is his first choice.

The 2nd wave of admits was the College of Letters and Sciences majors. I did not see any Engineering admits. There could be more waves coming so do not give up hope.
