It seems like it’s been minimal movement or at least posts about movement compared to the last couple of years.
Lots of chatter on Reddit. It’s not just Davis but also SB and SD that are quiet.
Every year is different so there is no way to predict. UCD had 2 admit waves in 2025, 5 in 2024, 4 in 2023 and 1 in 2022. Davis historically has closed their waitlist near the end of June so still several weeks to go for a chance at being admitted.
Does anyone have it mentioned that we will get a response “on or around July 15th ” in the waitlist message as mentioned in above comments?
I do not have access to the student portal but another poster mentioned a similar comment 9 days ago.
Yep, my daughter’s does. Based on others’ input it sounds like that is the generic statement for all in their portals if still on waitlist.
There hasn’t been any movement on the waitlist, and I found no updates on Reddit either. Checked with one of UCD counselors, and she doesn’t have any info either. Hope there will be some updates soon
I feel for these kids. I had read that UCD decreased their number of students overall so was assuming that meant fewer freshman. Maybe that means they didn’t need as many off the waitlist? This does seem late for more acceptances and last year per @Gumbymom there was no activity after May 5. ![]()
Stinks
UC Davis has sent out of wave of waitlist denials today June 26, 2026.
Haven’t asked my daughter yet but I don’t think she got one yet. Wonder if it’s by major?
These are the majors that I have seen denied from a couple of different sites: Biological Sciences, Psychology, Undeclared Social Science, Cognitive Science, Biochemistry, Food Science, Animal Science, Wildlife/Fish Conservation Bio, Mechanical, Chemical and Electrical Engineering.
Animal Science. She’s got the email. Luckily a ton of schools wanted her so she has a great alternate. Just so sad about the UC’s process in general. @Gumbymom - thanks for everything.
Sorry to hear but sounds like she will land where she is meant to be. Best of luck to her.
