UC Davis or University of Wisconsin Madison

So, I got into both UC Davis and WisMad. I’m an international applicant and have applied for a major in Computer Engineering. I would like to know which one would you prefer. Also, which one is better for academics ?
I don’t know if this is true, but I have heard that it is difficult to graduate out of UC schools because of the sheer amount of competition. Is this true? Tell me everything you know! Don’t hold anything back!

Check with the Davis Computer Engineering department to find out what it takes to finish in four years. One main reason why UC students take longer than four years to graduate is from taking off time to earn money to pay for school. If your family can afford to send you to Davis, that shouldn’t be an issue.

Both college towns with state capitols right nearby. Huge difference in winter weather. Both are a bus ride from major cities (San Francisco and Chicago). As an international student, one might be a far easier flight to and from home.

@confusedgrl19 Hey!

As you are an international applicant, I’d assume you care about international recognition and reputation and for your program, computer engineering, the University of Wisconsin, Madison far exceeds UC Davis in all the rankings and is much well known.

Don’t get me wrong, UC Davis might offer a good program as well, but it’s easily overshadowed by the other UCs (UCLA,UCB,UCSD).

The only reason to pick UC Davis over Wisconsin is if the weather matters to you a LOT. Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with UW Madison.
