I was admitted into UC Davis and then I committed to UC Davis and sent in my SIR. I had dropped a class(ap chemistry) after first semester during my senior year and I had notified the school as soon as it happened. I never heard back from them but then I got an email last week saying that my admission status is being reevaluating. Does anyone know how long it will take until I know whether or not I am still admitted? Will it be after May 1st because then I couldn’t commit to another school. Should I commit to Cal Poly Slo too just in case?
Rather than asking us on CC best is if you directly or (better) have your high school college counselor asks them about the status of your acceptance. Your college counselor may be able to explain the reason you dropped the class and mitigate the concern that UCD apparently has. Committing to Cal Poly while your application is being reevaluated does not seem appropriate. You may end up in the awkward situation of having accepted to two colleges.
It is bad form to accept admission at two schools - but, If they don’t get back to you before 5/1, you don’t have a choice. You risk loosing a deposit or two but, that’s a small price to pay for a plan B like SLO.
Good luck.
Don’t accept Cal Poly unless UCD doesn’t get back to you. Ask your GC what’s up with your admission status and why dropping AP Chem was a red flag for them. S/he might be able to explain, help you, and lead you in the right direction.
Definitely Agree ^^. Some schools don’t like when students drop a class. That could affect your chances but I hope everything goes well to you. No one know how long the process will be but as theDidactic said your counselor can ask UCD about your decision.
Call UCD and ask them because you have deadline. Don’t SIR two places, it can cause you more trouble than you can handle.
