Uc davis tag gpa for sociology?

it says they have “Additional req. &higher gpa bla bla” for certain majors, but sociology is not listed. Since their TAG gpa is 2.8, does that mean that thats the gpa you need to get granted TAG w/ sociology as the major?

You can find the requirements here:

http://admissions.ucdavis.edu/tag/criteria/F11TAG_criteria.pdf</a></p>

There are overall GPA requirements for each college as well as GPA requirements for certain groups of courses for individual majors.

Sociology is in Letters and Science, so it would be 2.90. I don’t see any requirements other than that.

[UC Davis : Selective major requirements](Majors)

sociology isnt included in their list of majors that require a 2.9

From the UC Davis TAG Criteria 2011-2012:

D) Grade point requirements

  1. The minimum overall grade point average (GPA) for transferable work required for a TAG varies by college as follows.
 College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences: 2.80.
 College of Biological Sciences: 2.90
** The College of Letters and Science: 2.90**
 The College of Engineering: 3.10

If you want an official answer, contact the UC Davis transfer representative at your college.

Good luck! Hope it works out.

right, but when u go to their website and click on major qualifications, they say that the only 3 majors in college of letters and sciences that require higher gpa are psychology, communications and international relations. thats why im confused.

Talk to the UCD transfer rep. He/she will be the one signing your TAG, so it’s their opinion that matters.

Are you on this borderline? Is there anything you can do to make that a 3.0 so you don’t even have to worry?

The link you provided is FURTHER requirements. Just click on any of the majors listed there and you will understand.

ALL majors in the Letters and Science require a 2.90 overall GPA.

Certain majors will require a certain GPA for a set group of courses as I explained in my previous post. For example, Biotechnology majors must complete a Calculus, Biology and Chemistry series. They must have at least a 2.50 GPA for each of these series in addition to the 2.90 overall GPA requirement.

Since sociology is not listed there, you just need a 2.90 overall GPA.

nvm, lol. i just checked my transcript and one of my teachers changed my grade so i do get a TAG for sociology =] thank you so much!
