Hello,
In fall 2009 I attended San Diego State University, I took english, stats, a film class, and econ.
Earlier this month my TAG to UC Davis was declined for an unknown reason.
I was told I was not going to meet the minimum 90 quarter units by the TAG system even though I had 92 units planned to complete by spring 2011. I spoke with a counselor at my community college and a UC Davis rep and they could not give me a reason as to why my TAG was not approved.
I am very worried that my SDSU classes will not transfer to UC Davis.
I have taken all the steps to get them IGETC certified and am just waiting for them to be processed.
My question is, is there any other steps I should take in insuring that my SDSU classes are counted for my regular UC transfer application?
Will they be counted for my UC transfer app?
Any input is appreciated, thanks!

i dont THINK that your sdsu classes will be counted in the regular app if they werent counted in the TAG app. atleast for davis. maybe take as many units as you need to get to 60 sem/90 quarter units in your last semester/last two quarters of cc? it might suck but it’ll be well worth it if it helps you…take some freakishly easy classes.
but hopefully im wrong lol.

If it were only a few classes, then I would say to call and get confirmation that your classes would transfers. But since you have 90 qtr units worth, they probably wont help you over the phone. Unless you are skeptical of a few courses then you should call about those. It would be best to set up an appointment with their rep or one of their college counselors and go over every course you have.

Going to a CC may not help that much. Theres a limit as to how many courses you’ve taken at a 4 year compared to those at a CC to be considered a CC transfer (I think you have too many). Otherwise, you’d still be considered a 4-year transfer and not have priority. Well, either way you’d still have the lower priority and a CC would guarantee that their classes transfer.

Sorry for the confusion, i went to SDSU only for 1 semester, fall 2009.
I took 16 semester units there so 24 quarter units equivalent.
The following winter quarter I transfered to my local community college and have have been taking classes there for almost a year.
The only thing I am worried is if my SDSU classes are transferrable to a UC.
On a side note, all of my classes are assist certified from Foothill College (cc) to SDSU for example Econ 101 at SDSU and Econ 1a at Foothill, so I was under the impression that they would transfer without issue, due to the fact that the the same classes that assist certify from Foothill to SDSU also work from Foothill to Davis. For example, Econ 101 at SDSU = Econ 1a at Foothill = Econ 1a at Davis?

That’s the thing, it doesn’t work that way sometimes. It’s crazy and frustrating that

a=b, b=c but a =/= c

It’s happen to me in the past (somewhat similar position as you are) and an English course wouldn’t transfer to the UC from State, so I had to take it again at the CC (didn’t matter, just showed I can get an A twice >_> ). Call Davis and ask if it transfers to the specific college in UC Davis that you are applying to.
