UC Davis v. Pitt

I got accepted to Pitt’s honors college with $2,000 scholarship so I would only have to pay $23,000 a year. Accepted into Neuroscience Program.

UCDavis-don’t know how much I got for financial aid, and since I am out of state I would have to pay $34,000. Accepted for Neurobiology.

Which would be the best to go to in terms of research and quality of education?

Thank You!

Question you need to ask “Is your (and/or your family) value on going to UC-Davis worth $44,000 more than going to Pitt?” (By the way, Pitt has outstanding research and internship opportunities in neuroscience.)

My opinion is that it is not. But only you (and your family) can determine if the UC-Davis experience and education is worth the difference. One more question, if you decide to change majors (and the majority of college students do so these days), what school would you rather attend and is that worth the difference?

Pitt

I would say go to Pitt. You got into the honors college which is good, it’s significantly cheaper than going to Davis. I believe that Pitt has a highly respected and one of the top neuroscience programs in the nation.
