UC Davis vs University of Washington, Seattle?

I applied to both universities for bioengineering/biomed engieering. I got accepted at UW and waitlisted at UCD. I’m just not sure if I should enroll at UW or keep waiting for UCD. I’ve done some research and I know that they are very different and it’s hard to tell which one is better. But I am an international student, so I can’t visit the campuses and all that and most of the info I have on these two colleges came from the internet. So I really need some advice. Thanks!

Good schools. Write UCD and thank them for wait listing you and affirm your continued interest in attending. If you can say that you’ll go there if you’re admitted, say that unambiguously. Wait til the end of April and put your deposit on Washington if you haven’t heard from UCD by then. If UCD offers you admission after May 1, take a couple days to consider because UCD is a good school. The chances of your being offered admission are usually not that good. This way you have a school to go to this fall, Washington, and you haven’t eliminated UCD.

So I would want to go to UCD more?

No… you got waitlisted at UCD… which is like saying you’re very unlikely to get off that waitlist. So, accept the place on the waiting list just in case you still want to go there, but deposit and UW because are very low you’re going to UCD.
If you’re not interested in the waitlist, UWA is a EXCELLENT school: deposit; tell davis you don’t want a place on the waitlist, and presto, you’re done. :)

Thanks jkeil911 and myos1634!

I will definitely deposit at UW.

What’s UWA?

Yes, I understand the WAITLIST part. All I’m asking is which one is better in terms of bioengineering? If UCD is then of course I would want to keep my place since I might (even though a biiig might) get in. If UW is then I just simply wouldn’t waste my time and energy.
