Hi I’m creating this thread because I didn’t see anything for UC Davis’s Young Scholar’s Program this summer. I was curious if anybody has heard anything back from YSP for things such as interviews, which I know YSP has, since several people I know who got in previous years had to get interviewed.
Yesterday I checked my application again and saw a 6th tab called “Acceptance” and when I clicked the tab, it said congratulations and asked for my signature, but in the top right corner it said my application was still under review. I went to check the tab again today and it’s gone now.
Also I have not gotten an interview or any emails from the program since I submitted. Did you?
My daughter was just notified that she has been accepted. She was not asked to interview for this one.
There is no interview segment for YSP, and there hasn’t been for quite some time
I was rejected. Do you feel comfortable posting your daughter’s stats? I might reapply next year.
I’m a little biased, but I think my kid is pretty great. She’s a junior at a small private prep school. She’s always taken the most rigorous options. Current GPA, 4.0/ 4.3 with 6 AP classes in progress including AP bio which she wrote about for one of her essays. Last summer she interned as a science/ conservation leader at a major aquarium, is involved in student government, robotics, a school ambassador, plays a couple of team sports and teaches swimming lessons on the weekends.
Was accepted too! Hope to see your daughter there
Hey guys, I’ve just been accepted to YSP! I’m really not sure whether I should wait for SIP UC Santa Cruz decisions though, since I’m really interested in physics and YSP seems to be mostly bio and agriculture. I haven’t found much physics research in the projects of the last few years. Though I do hear that YSP is slightly harder to get into than SIP. Do you think there’s a chance that YSP will extent fee deadline and SIP to send a decision early?
