ya devochka, a ti malchik ili devochka?

Malishka, where do you go to school, now?

yeah I was going to go plain old econ but then I had one great math prof after another and was really motivated and inspired to pursue math/econ despite the fact that i was really behind and would have to double-up/triple-up on math courses. Also, i met a math-econ major at UCLA and I liked what he told me abotu the program, there. Good foundation in both, not too heavy of a workload… he’s simultaneously in their music program, too. so its doable and you can even pursue minors on the side. he also told me that a bizecon major at ucla) is bs (according to him)… just econ with an accounting minor. well i guess if you’re down with accounting, its not bs. but im not a big fan of it. so i’m all for math econ and i applied for a joint major at any schools that offer it… all in all I only applied to UC’s, 6 of them: cal, ucla, ucsd, ucd, ucsb, ucsc. I got into ucsc, thats about it. I found out first thing march 15th, too… no news since then.

how have you progressed in the extensive math sequence we have to complete for the joint major?

highschoolda, female. and you? (& your secrets safe with me!)

lol. I am male… second year at smc. Looking to get into medicine.

There haven’t been any new acceptances for cc people here the past two days!!! What’s going on!?

well thats no good…I would reallllly like to hear from UCSD.

maybe today after 5 pm for sb and after 12 pm tomorrow for sd?

thats about the time that these schools did anything last week.

have a good weekend guys.

santa barbara is ****ing me off, i know that i got in because they have this aggrement with my CC that if you do this and that they accept you, so why cant they just post the flipping thing so i can feel good about myself for 5 seconds and then continue my miserable existance of waiting for my rejection from cal and la, why why cant they just do that for me.

Ok, anyways lol

luba, i am only done with calc 2, in calc 3 right now, i figured taking calc 3, differntial and linear in one semester was going to be to hard, so i just decided to do calc 3.

What i have left is differential, linear, discrete and c++, which i know is A LOT, so there is a high chance UCLA will not accept me, in berkeley my major is just ECON and i am done with all the requirments that are available at my college.

I live in san diego, and i go to grossmont right now.

I am thinking that this summer i will do 2 more out of the 4 requirments, then if i get in my first quarter i will have 2 requirments left and that undergrad Econ course, which should be a good introductory first quarter.

i already got into UCSD under the international studies econ major, which, my mom talked me into and i desperatley hope they let me change it to math econ.

I ideally want to go to CAL, because i would get to finish earliest as they have the least amount of undergrad requriments, in UCLA i would finish the latest.

5:50 PM on Friday, March 24th, and still nothing from UCSB or UCSD for me…

:<

ohh i havent checked after 5pm, lol i guess i will do that now.

nothing new from Santa Barbara

grrr, nothing new for me as well.

What an exciting day…

Nothing new for me either.

malishka… im kind of in the same boat as you. i’ll be finishing up calc (math 1d) & taking linear alg & differentials & intro to bio (igetc) this spring…

almost done w/ the c++ and discrete (only finals-week to go).

& yeah i applied for econ at berkeley, too. thinking of doing a double major if & when i get in.

since i am in the honors prog at my cc, i got to pick an alternate major for ucla. i don’t know if you did that aswell. i picked econ. if i get into the econ prog & not the math/econ, i was told i could switch because of math/econ’s lack of popularity (as opposed to straight up econ). fingers crossed for ucla.

you got into ucsd, right? why are you so worried about ucsb? is it higher on you list? whats your overall pref.?

after a week+ of nothing but anxiety and multiple admission checks per day… ive sort of let it go. the anxiety has def. subsided. good timing, too, since i have finals next week. and then its 1 week of freedom!

after that… just 3 weeks & i will know all. & on the eve of berkeley admissions is a very awesome show that i’m going to be attending. anyone into atmosphere? theyre coming to santa cruz may1st.

what perfect timing! my favorite club, too. can’t wait!

UCSB’s site is currently down…maybe they are uploading a new batch?

Hm, “Access to the application status site is currently unavailable due to regularly scheduled maintenance.” Does regular maintenance entail adding more decisions? I hope so!

My prefrence is Santa barbara, i have issues with staying at home… i dont want to.

realisticly speaking, my bf lives in NYC and if he gets into law school there, and i dont get into LA or CAL i will go to baruch … which i know sucks, but i just dont want to stay in san diego.

IF i stay in cali, and the only places i get into are Sd and SB i will try to go to SB even though the questions of where the heck am i living and who is paying for it do come up.

luba what you mean by taking differntial, linear this spring??? isnt the spring term alreayd in session??? do you mean summer?

never heard of baruch… but i understand what you mean about moving away from home. the closest i could be is berkeley which is like and hour+ drive away. i’m cool with it, as long as i’m not living at home. after 20+ years, its time to move out… you know?

i’m on the quarter system (im assuming you’re on the semester system). so, i’m just finishing up winter quarter, starting spring q. on april 10th, after spring break.

your in a community college??? with a quarter system, that is very cool, i was wondering, do you then get more classes in ?
