anyone know when the next UCSD acceptance/rejection batch is sent out?

my bf lives in ny and i dont get any . lol …

but yes it does suck to choose a major that you have no interest in …

why didnt you choose something that you found interesting? i know they dont have a pharm major , but i am sure there are other things you like?

I’m very enthusiastic about my major, and honestly, there’s no way I could do the whole school thing if I weren’t. I’m very lucky I found something that I am so interested in. I feel for you, highschoolda. Best of luck.

I haven’t really had a chance to explore things that intrest me. Mostly taking science classes. Which is mostly pure memorization followed by tricky exams. I don’t get much enjoyment from labs. lol.

I am also one of these people who doesn’t have much intrerest in academics.

I was thinking about studying sociology, but i don’t even have the prereqs and don’t have much reading or writing expirience. English is not my first language so thats another disadvantage.

Eh, another day in the life of highschoolda.

Agreed. Now only if we didnt have to take art classes for igetc.

well if u’re motivated to be able to make a decent living one day, u’ll do anything.

We live in materialistic world, which puts a lot of emphasis on income. Money is what makes the world go round…

It’s pronounced “I-get-see,” correct?

hahahaa yep… also “I get C” … well, i don’t know why we should follow “I get C” for the general education… I mean why not “I get A” j/k

“I got my decisions from UCSD yesterday. I was rejected with 3.5 GPA. Economic major. It is true that my GPA is not high, but I never thought that I would be rejected by UCSD. I am 29 and married. I am so-called the re-entry student. I thought it would help me, but I was wrong. Anyway, yesterday was not a good day for me.”

I am screwed. I am 29 and married as well, but with a 3.35. Oh well…I got accepted to BYU, so I guess it could be worse, but I wanted UCSD. Awaiting my rejection letter…

Lucky you, BYU has many many many HOT girls. But they’re mormon so I guess unlucky you. And you’re married, so its a lose lose situation for you. Hrm…

Don’t give up Mikoyle. It is case by case. I think you have a good shoot at UCSD with 3.35 gpa. I think I was rejected because I am not able to finish my major requirement before fall. There are 4 calculus classes (1A,1B,1C,1D), but I only can finish two of them before fall. Anyway, good luck !

Hey everyone, I know this isn’t the right place for this, but hey who else can I talk to? I got accepted to Pepperdine! Now I just return to the wait for berkeley, la and stanford. At least I have one of my top 4 schools in the bag. Now the waiting continues, but without the care for SD, SB and Irvine. Woo hoo!

What!?!? So you had IGETC done and everything? Are you a UC to UC transfer? It’s hard to believe that you got rejected from a school that admits students with an average GPA of 3.3. I’m stunned.

You are right. I don’t knoiw why I was rejected.

you know what would better explain the admission process

they throw our names in a hat, and a monkey picks them out, thats how people get rejected by UCSB with 3.4s and from UCSD … and those same people get into UCB and LA

No, no, no guys, let’s not do this, please. My one goal on the forum over the next month is to try to stop us from making erroneous assumptions and never looking back.

Please don’t come to conclusions without looking at entire files. The more we learn about an applicant, the more reasons arise as to why they may have been rejected (Coast for instance, who is finishing a lot of requirements this semester).

The average GPA of admits to UCSD in Fall 2005 was 3.42. In Fall 2004: 3.5, Fall 2003: 3.44, Fall 2002: 3.42.

Keep in mind that the GPA is only ONE academic factor. Other extremely important academic factors include the completion of English and math requirements, IGETC or other GE, 60 transferable units, and IN SOME CASES major preparation. Besides that, there are many other parts of an application that we need to look at before coming to conclusions about an individual’s rejection. We also need to realize that each UC has a different process; we shouldn’t assume that each school looks at things in similar ways.

Gabew42 is right. Anyway, I am going to call UCSD and I hope I can find out the answer. I will post the answer when I get it. I think it is a goog way for us to learn more about the addmission process.

Do they release decisions out on weekends?

u mean like today? i doubt it, i can’t imagine admissins ppl working on sunday

are they going to release decisions on spring break?
