UC decision dates...

yes once at a rave.

i was not sober. … lets just say, i hugged people and i was happy.

housing for just 290 students…

so 290/5000 transfer students!? Damn those are some tough odds.

i think its 290 on campus, and then some apartments.

edit: its 290 apartments. i dont know how many on campus halls are available to transfers.

UCSB offers approximately 4700 residence hall spaces to single students:
Single Student Apartments provide approximately 290 furnished apartments for single (unmarried) full-time UCSB students.

wow 4700 spots is a lot

including freshman though… so its not that much at all.

"housing for just 290 students…

so 290/5000 transfer students!? Damn those are some tough odds."

First of all, the entering class is 5000? I don’t think so. Secondly, 290 is not bad at all. The vast majority of transfers do not want to live on campus **OR CHOOSE not to live on campus.

its 290 apartments… then there is the recidence halls too.

i dont know where the 5k is coming from, that seems like the amount that applied… 5k transfer students. didnt ike 2500 get accepted or 2800… but not all of those accepted will attend anyways.

oh btw…good luck to everyone…

im still excited about getting into ucsb…

I’m super happy! I got into UCSB with a major in Comparative Literature. :)

UCSB should really do something about their party school image…I know so many smart kids who wont’ go there because of that…heh…

did anyone get UCSD yet? comon UCSD release your damn decisions already

i don’t think so…

UCSB is known as a party school but its also becomming an academic powerhouse. I think its a great school with a work hard - play hard mentality. Unlike schools such as Cal which is solely work hard…

it is known as a party school…serious academic minded students don’t exactly leap onto UCSB…not to mention the lack of diversity there

I dont understand why everyone cares so much about the “lack of diversity.” Yeah, it is mostly a population full of hot blonde girls and “surfer” dudes, but that goes on everywhere. Do you really need to make friends with people from every ethnicity? Don’t get me wrong, I have middle eastern friends, asian friends, and south american friends but a lack of diversity is not something that bothers me. However I am a typical white male so it may be different for people coming from other cultures/backgrounds…and I dont know if i made any sense right there (haven’t slept for 22 hours) haha but yeah… im outa here

Diversity if overrated. UCR is suppsoed to be the most diverse UC but all i see is Asian.

university of chinese immigrants FTL

been on vacation in vancouver the past week or so… haven’t caught up w/ the posts yet but came home to find out that i got into UCSB math-econ and got crazy good grades for winter quarter. needless to say… today rocks!

whats up w/ ucsd’s hold-up? & haven’t heard from davis, either

All right, its time for the recently emboldened accepted (or rejected) applicants to step up to the plate and make a guess… who thinks they can run the gauntlet of the UC/college application process?

Getting into every school should be quite a feat: one we should respect and look forward to. I don’t wanna read some cheesy responses like, “I don’t wanna jinks myself, but I hope to get into them all” or “I’ll prolly get rejected from them all, ha ha” No, not ha ha. I would like to see honest evaluations from everyone as to which schools they have either been accepted to or plan on getting into. Its time to start posting the results lists-

I’ll start- so far I’m batting 1000 (another baseball metaphor in tribute to start of the season) being accepted to Irvine, Santa Barbara, getting the UCLA regents letter, and getting into Pepperdine. I have yet to hear from San Diego or Haas at Berkeley. I believe I will get into both of these schools by the end of this admissions process. Yes, I said it, I will be accepted everywhere I applied… now that those good vibes are out there in the universe (and cyberspace), who’s with me on pulling 100% acceptance?

If not, make a statement and begin your diatribe of the schools you “didn’t really wanna attend anyway.”

Let the posting of predictions begin!

btw… enough with the anonymity-
I’m Austin, nice to meet ya.

Good luck with Haas. I think you’ll get in. One of my past classmates got into Haas, UCLA, and Pepperdine with a similar profile and a 3.6 GPA.

So far, I’ve been accepted at UCI, UCSB, and UCSC. I think I have a good chance of getting into Berkeley and UCLA. I have a 3.5, 64 transferable units, am from college that barely ever has students apply to a campus other than Chico, and my intended major isn’t exactly wildly popular at either campus (Philosophy). Plus, I have a strong personal statement. So, I’m going for 5 out of 5.

Best of luck to you Eschatos-

Thanks. Also, in order to maintain the even exchange, my name is Daniel. If you get Haas, will you accept it or is another school your first choice?
