UC decision dates...

Well, then, good luck on the first of May. Hopefully, we’ll run into each other if you ever happen to transverse Moses Hall or I happen to wander into Haas’ section of the campus. (The latter is pretty likely … I have old friends to torment.)

BTW, what extracurriculars are you planning to pursue at Berkeley (should you get in)? I’m thinking of getting involved with their Amnesty International and Habitat for Humanity chapters as well as volunteering at the Koret Family House in SF (I used to be a guest of theirs).

sorry, just seemed like you were about to be like “you feel tired with X many apps… i have filled out X+ 10 shut up” any way, I’m glad i was wrong… i have applied to 8 schools, including stanford and pepperdine, whose apps were crazy long (like 3x as muich as all the uc’s) and it just seems like every time we get something done, another thing rolls around.
Example-
Nov. UC App
Jan Pepperdine App (involved)
Feb Haas Supplamental
Feb UC Update
Mar Stanford (involved)
Mar LA Regents
Apr Another LA thing, pepperdine stuff, waiting, entering other minor scholarships and whatnot… just seems to keep comming when I thought after Stanford I would be done… I didn’t even know the regents thing existed when I applied to know that I wanted it.

I wish I did keep my big baby. I ended up selling it for $ for the 414rce. les paul nice…I have an SG (epiphone of course) that serves me well, but there are days when I just feel a need for a chunkier sound of a paul or the twang of strat.

wow daniel, those seem like noteworthy activities to pursue… I havn’t thought that much about it, although I am looking forward to the mandatory summer school (maybe thats odd) but I think its a great idea and allows kids to meet and bond without the riggors of normal school life to contend with. I plan on continuing my volunteering with the first tee (I volunteer in concord which is close enough to berkeley for me to go to once a week for a couple of hours)
I really expect to be engulfed with Haas while I’m there- taking advantages of opportunities and I am truely excited to be able to study business with their focus on management, i admit that I would be more than slightly dissappointed to go somewhere to learn business with an econ focus, although very beneficial, is not quite as suited to my tastes as Haas.

aji1234, hahaaha, oh i see your logic now… darn, don’t you see one same saying can be interpreted differently; no wonder sometimes people argue so much because they simply didn’t understand others’ perspectives. :)

Anyways, those applications definitely are tedious to be filled out. Yeah I have looked at the Stanford application once and when i saw it, I even decided not to apply there anymore… but it is good that you apply, I remember that only one top student ranked #1 (out of 500+ students) in my high school got in Stanford in 2004. My friend who was also on the top 10 (out of 500+ students) got in Caltech but was rejected by Stanford.

Have you heard from any school yet? Good luck to you by the way!

Do you guys think this thread will see 3000 post by the time UCLA/Cal decisions come out?

Kevin- I have heard from Pepperdine, Santa Barbara, and Irvine and was accepted to them all… I can’t get myself to say that the regents thing from la constitutes anything more than it is, but i’m hopeful. U?

This reminds me… people, post those admissions decisions lists, its interesting.

WillDO- Keep playing man, its what keeps ya sane… a little outlet whenever you want it, guiars are great (they’re my only experience with music and I took it up kinda late, as I never had any inclination to pursue music at a younger age, but in the last 4 years have really liked playing)

356 pages (i know) j/k

I think 3000 is not enough… it must exceed 3000 very soon and you will definitely see… I thought there will only be 101 max (that is why i chose 101 for my screenname) but this topic exceeded 101 pages like months ago already.

WOw, aji1234, that is good to hear, 3 x Congratulations (3 acceptances)

I got in my safety schools like Calpoly Pomona, Calstate LA and Calstate Long beach  but i’m still waiting for the 5 UCs and USC :(

congrats kevin, look forward to those future acceptances- I’m off to bed, good evening. Tomorrow’s calc class is my last before spring break and a trip to tahoe for a few days- finally this nasty weather will have been good for something (this is the first time up to tahoe this year due to crappy weather: rain melting the snow over winter break) nuf venting, I’m happy its here now.
Til tomorrow everyone, when, perhaps sd will announce.

It might just be me, but seeing Aji1234’s essay and 4.0 stat has me a bit rattled if that is what the pool to Haas is like.

I’ll go so far as to say that it’ll be at 3000 before the end of next week. Mark it down.

this thread is ginormous.

I believe it will reach past 3000 by next week. If you look at posts since April 1 till today (April 7)… there have been 349 posts. Now assuming we get even half that, we will be well over 3000! God we have no lives…

My friend, who received the phone call yesterday from a ucla alumni offering scholarships, specifically asked her if she has a 3.75 because, “everyone with a 3.75 or higher will be getting in to ucla.” Could this be true? Gosh, I hope so. And if it is true, she has a 3.5something, so why did she get a phone call? Even more importantly, why haven’t I received a phone call with my 3.79? Gosh…this waiting totally sucks!

Is that 3.75 with TAP too? I’d like to see the outcome of this…Good luck tallkell!

No mention of TAP.

Thanks for the luck…:)

People are giving away admissions specifics over the phone? The website–for both schools–flat out tells you not to ask about specifics because they don’t have the resources to mete out decisions and such to individuals. Lying bastards!

My friend did ask him if his phone call meant she was being admitted. He said he could not tell her that, but then asked her if she has a 3.75. Which she bascially lied and said she did. That is when he said, “anyone with a 3.75 is getting in.” Anyway…I am a little skeptical though because I just don’t think the alumni would know something like that.

Ah … rage … subsiding.
