I have tried to leave little to chance in my college transfer process… honestly I have given Haas or LA no reason to deny me… if they say no, its because they manufactured some reason. I have taken/am taking classes at cal through concurrent enrollment demonstrading desire to attend, maintain 4.0gpa, have all requirements done at berkeley, did the mentorship program, financial planning internship, bank consultant job, volunteering 2hrs a week with first tee, started companies… no reason to say no… I hope

awww…as soon as I get into UCLA (if I do) I’m going straight to the UCLA’s bookstore to buy my lightblue hoodie…

aji1234, you started companies? That’s impressive.

yeah, i started one and sold it… then started another one
hope it helps with the haas ppl… i mentioned it in my essays along with other aspects of my interest in business

UCLA decisions are out on just a friday?

it will be rolling

2 weeks or so… sigh sigh

I hope it’s only 2 weeks!

You know what, I don’t really care that my spring break has ended because I just want to get my classes done and over with so that I can start my classes at a 4-year! Is anyone else with me?!

i’ll amen to the getting classes done with but not to the starting more classes at an even harder environment.

MS, I don’t know just how much harder it’s going to be. I had a friend that spent a semester at CC then went to UCLA (long story). He said that he didn’t feel UCLA was exponentially more difficult, just a bit.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m really looking forward to being a part of the real “college experience.” Living away from home, going to parties, and eating pizza for breakfast. Count me in.

what was your friends major?

Moss, what happened was that UCLA hadn’t accepted enough applicants for Fall '04, so he and a few others (that I know of) from my school were told by UCLA that if they attended CC for a semester, they would be admitted for Spring '05. So technically, he went in undeclared/undecided.

Alright, I’ve got a crazy question for you guys. Assuming I am rejected for film from UCLA and that I am not accepted to my secondary major (history), can I appeal to UCLA under a totally new major?

The reason I ask is that I’ve unknowingly fulfilled all the pre-major requirements for the Communication Studies major (stats, speech, government, sociology, psychology) with a grade of A in each course. Two of the classes (stats and speech) will be finished at the end of the semester, but I know I’ll get an A. So is this possible?

^ I have no idea, but that’s awesome Kudos! On another subject, SD only releases decisions on Saturdays, right?

Square, yes, I believe that is indeed correct.

Hey Kudos, it is possible but winning the appeal is really hard but still you have a chance.

You reminded me about a sad story: In 2004 when I applied to electrical engineering in UCI as a freshman, they rejected once and then I appealed with my improved GPA (I used my midterm first semester GPA which is 4.0 weighted) and a great letter of recommendation from my high school counselor plus a new essay explaining that the grades previously earned in 10th and 11th grades are not the reflection of my academic performance and how I would improve much better and I have shown that with my senior year grades with rigourous courses.

To be honest, I came to the U.S. and started in 9th grade second semester in high school without knowing much English. Nonetheless, within a few months of studying crazily to catch up, I managed to advance up to taking Biology Honors and Geometry Honors in 10th grade. My GPA in 10th grade, however, was the worst in my high school (3.0 GPA weighted). My Junior year GPA was about 3.5 (weighted). Then I took the SAT and scored around 1200 (with about 200 points increase from the first time) and for the subject test, I had 530, 700 and 770 (math IIC). Unfortunately, All UCs rejected me except UCR.

Then, I decided to go to a CCC and here I’m about two years later after high school graduation; I have proved to UCI that I could do much better just as I mentioned in my appeal and luckily UCI accepted me. I am very happy that they don’t reject me the third time.

Wow, from the way you type I would never have known english was your second language.

You must have had a great english teacher.

Matt, stop lying, I could tell english wasn’t his first language. His grammar and diction show it quite well! hehehe

English is not my first language; not even my second one but English is really my third language. Yeah, as some of you can see like Kevintech implied, my English sucks
