I recently wrote an essay to apply to UC. Before the deadline, my counselor told me that I had no chance for the UC, since my TOEFL score did not meet the requirement(I got 79 and UC ask for 80) and my SAT score was so bad(1540: Math:630, Reading: 480, Writing: 430). I was so desperate that I could not get into my dream school. So I take a chance, writing the essay in the morning before the deadline and submit with no hopes. Yesterday, the first UC came to me and said that I was admitted. I was speechless, wasn’t thinking that my essay was good. Can someone take a look on my essay and share about your thought? I really appreciate you for this wonderful achievement, because it’s rare to get admitted with SAT nearly 1500. Most of the boards prefer to choose in between 2000 or above at least.
