i realize that an A is a 4, B is a 3, C is a 2 and you add a point for honors/ap/ib. but what percentages are each of these letter grades?

is it 90-100 A
80-89 B
70-79 C
etc.?

also…
my school has it at 94-100 is an A… so i was wondering if when they said “minimum unweighted GPA of B,” are they using their own scale or my school’s scale?

thanks guys

a minimum unweighted average of B means you have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Simple as that.

nodnarb, you seem to be missing the point.

it isn’t that simple because depending on how they convert the letter grade from a percentage, the gpa changes. depending on whether they say an 80 is a B or a C, a person can end up with a B average or C average. so, if i had all 80’s they would consider it a B average and a 3.0. but if they considered 80s as a C and i had all 80s, they would consider it a C average and thus a 2.0, making me inelligible for admission.

does anybody have an answer to my question?

your school’s average.

Yeah, however your school determines your grade that’s how UC will see it.
If 80 is C, then you’re right UC will consider you to have a C average.
All you input on the UC application are letter grades “A, B, C, D, F” (no + or -)
and those letters are to be the same ones found on your high school transcript.
