For my financial aid letter from UC Santa Barbara, it says that they’ve used cal grant A for the letter. I qualified for both A and B and it says if I choose B($1,551.00) they will adjust it over the summer. I was wondering if my UC grant eligibility would decrease or increase. As in if i’d get more money than the $6,071 they’ve given me now.

If you’re eligible for both A and B, they will select the one that’s generally best. If your Cal Grant goes up, the university will generally lower some of it’s university aid to compensate. Ditto if you come up with an outside scholarship-- they will adjust the aid package downward (usually by eliminating some of the self help, loans or work study) so that the total aid package remains the same.
