Received: a while ago (beginning of march/end of february maybe). i’m just posting this bc i just got rejected from UCLA so i’m really leaning towards going to Irvine

SAT II: physics, 650, us history, 690
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.79
Weighted GPA : 4.46
Rank/percentile : rankings arent public but i am definitely not in the top 10%

[/ul]General Comments: I’m actually quite surprised that I got offered to be waitlisted at UCI, instead of rejected since my test scores aren’t up to par, and my GPA is just okay. I’d love to go UCI - it is/was my top choice. If they don’t take me, then Community College awaits…

@DPattt Yeah, I totally would too. UCLA is good and all, but UCI is tighter nit. If the rest of us on the struggle bus would just get accepted, that would be awesome.

@DPattt‌ I really admire you because you are the prove that numbers DO NOT matter. I’m reading the UCLA thread and many applicants with stats higher than yours got rejected (I’m not discrediting you, your SAT score is really good as well!), but you still got accepted. Moreover, your first choice (?) is still UCI, which as someone reminded you, is ranked lower and have ‘less prestige’. Congrats again, and hope we both can get into UCI!

Thanks @Luigi0928‌ . When i got to this thread and realized that they give zero f’s about sat, i started to panic lol, because that and my essays are pretty much all i have going for me. Im sure you will get in man; stats apparently arent everything, but im not sure if uci will overlook my gpa. Both of you guys have better stats than my own and i feel that you are each more worthy to be accepted to this university.

@sweetpotatoes31‌ They are not low at all, just COMPARED to other UCLA applicants his GPA is lower than the average. I AM NOT discrediting him, I’m sure he deserved it!
