@niting Ah, well, UCR is not bad at all.
It also has the same marketplace as UCI.

Sorry, I just saw responses to my post as we kinda just quit looking here when she was so upset that she did not get in. Thanks for your responses!
My daughter took all Honors English and Honors Math classes but only 2 AP Classes before Senior Year where she had 3 AP Classes fall semester and 3 AP spring semester. Straight As in those, but of course they don’t see those grades. So she was a little weak in the number of AP classes prior to senior year. Her brother has autism and her essay was about him and made me cry – got her into finals for some scholarships, including one at her school where only 5 kids got picked. Kids she knows at her school with lower grades, lower SAT scores, less AP/honors classes, way less honors and extracurriculars got in when she did not. She is going to Cal Lutheran with a 30K Performing Arts scholarship, and though on the Waitlist at UC Irvine, won’t go there now as she is involved in the whole process at Cal Lutheran. UCI was her first choice school, so she was devastated and embarrassed since everyone she knows that applied got in except for her. She said “I helped these people with their classes, and they got in, and I didn’t.” President of one club, treasurer of another, leads in school plays starting sophomore year, choreographed the entire musical Legally Blonde and played Elle in it. Was choreographer for theater dept. for her junior and senior years. Did Speech and Debate (multiple awards, selected to compete at State), Mock Trial (multiple awards). There are other clubs and activities – honoraries, etc. Plenty of volunteer work. Being a middle class white girl with two parents with advanced degrees and no hardships noted (not that there are not any! just did not want to talk about that) probably did not help her. I see others with good scores and ECs who also did not get in, so who knows. I’m sure there is some chance involved based on who reviews your application. And maybe Cal Lutheran is a better school for her, and she was meant to go there. Plus, it will save us some $$.
Hey! does anyone know when the waitlist decisions come out for uci?
