Admits off the waitlist depend upon how many students SIR by May 1. Each year this can change.
After all the waiting, my son was waitlisted this afternoon. 4.24 GPA (w), 3.7 (uw), ACT 34, strong ECs and leadership (student body president, junior class president), tons of volunteer hours, 10 AP’s. Applied as theatre major (we live about 15 mins from UCI, so would have been nice). Accepted at Stanford (yay!), UCSD, UCSB, UCR. Rejected at UCLA (boo!).

I opted in for the waitlist on the myadmission website. Is there nothing to do but wait until May/June for the portal to change to rejected or accepted as a wait listed applicant?
@LomoKuan I believe all there is to do is wait until that time; considering the fact that they had the most amount of applicants in any year, it might hinder our chances. I wish us luck!
