] ACT (breakdown): N/a
[] SAT II: N/a

[] AP (place score in parenthesis): AP Psych (1), AP Calc AB (1), AP US History (1) & AP English Lang & Comp. (2)
[
] IB (place score in parenthesis): N/A
[] Senior Year Course Load: Regular classes except 1 AP class
[

[
] Summer Activities: N/A
[] Essays: N/A
[
] Teacher Recommendation: N/A
[] Counselor Rec: N/A
[
] Additional Rec: N/A

[/ul]Other[ul]
[] Applied for Financial Aid?: Yes
[
] Intended Major: Undeclared/Undecided. Applied for nursing got rejected (didn’t read you needed a 500 in each section of the SAT until AFTER I applied to the nursing program with the essay and all.) DEFINITELY want something in the medical field.
[] State (if domestic applicant): CA
[
] Country (if international applicant):
[] School Type: Public HS
[
] Ethnicity: Hispanic
[] Gender: F
[
] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Youngest out of 4 to go straight to a 4 year. (Even better a UC :-))

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: The fact that I got my stuff together junior year. 4.5 GPA weighted all year long, 4.0 UW.
[
] Weaknesses: WAYYYYY lower SAT scores than all of these applicants. Also talking regular (non AP) classes senior year.
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted based on potential I suppose? I went 0-100 real quick from sophomore to junior year.
[
] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted at CSULA, CSUCI, Sac State, & UCR. Rejected from CSULB & UCSB.

[/ul]General Comments: I’m very excited to be accepted in the first place and attend!! This was my dream school my junior year when I wanted to major in psychology!! Then my dream school changed to CSULB because I wanted to be a nurse but I got rejected lol. Nonetheless I love UCI!! I would’ve still chose UCI over CSULB even if I got accepted. It makes me want to flash forward to college already lol. I’m just scared of being lonely the first couple weeks (2 hrs away from home & no one else I know got accepted (or applied?) there). I had no hope of getting in once I saw that I wasn’t even “qualified” to apply to their nursing department I just thought it’d be an easy reject. I didn’t even open my UCI portal until I got an email congratulating me on admission & to go to preview day I was so shocked (still am). There was almost 98000 applicants this year and others (including above posters), I feel, had a way better chance than me of getting in.

Rejected from UCI but accepted at SB. Please get your stuff together, UC system

I’m kinda meh about it but I wanted to do this just for the fun, so I’ll do it. Might be informative to the Class Of 2021. Also I heard back like the 23rd around 10:05 a.m. , just haven’t had time to post this.

[/ul]General Comments:

Has everyone already heard now?

Accepted for bio; 33 ACT, 3.7 uw gpa, 4.7 w gpa, 720 math II subject test, 760 bio subject test, decent ECs - not too many though, top high school in the state, didn’t show much of an interest but writing is a huge strong suit so essays were well written.

For those accepted who plan on going, do you want to start a GroupMe or something for it? Roommate searching, anyone?

Waitlisted
CS&Engineering
3.83 UC GPA
1590 SAT
Lots of ECs
Good Essays

tbh I thought I was going to get rejected with my terrible SATs

Accepted
Pharmaceutical Sciences
UC GPA 3.3
1510 SAT
Im really shocked I got in kind of feel like I’m dreaming. I think it was because of how involved I was at my school, first kid in my whole family to go to college. I know my GPA is low but it was due to an invent that occurred my 10th grade year which I wrote about in my personal statement. I also worked really hard on the essays, went to many workshops, spent 3 months on it and I even sent it to Berkeley to get it checked and they said it was amazing.

^ Same as you I was surprised I got in! However I didn’t apply to the pharmaceutical sciences but congrats for getting in! My SAT score was 1400 and honestly I didn’t feel like my personal statements were the best.
@ri0tvan I’m planning on going and would like if someone started something for the students that will attend

@lpxj21 I just made a link for the groupme app for Irvine class of 2020; I’m gonna post the link for it in a new thread but here it is for every one who wants to join:

https://■■■■■■■■■■■/join_group/20826277/wVFzTn

Does anyone else have anything in MyAid? I’m just trying to see costs and stuff but it hadn’t been updated since I got notification of acceptance (awhile back, CHP). All it says is “we got your FAFSA” or whatever

@Mimi456 hey do you think you can send me your personal statements? I’m thinking about appealing to UCs. But if it’s too personal I understand. Thank you so much.

@alphabetatrig I’ve seen a bunch of questions about this and I don’t think anyone has gotten any financial aid yet info yet, including me.

@eliwood5837 good to know I’m not alone, thanks!

@kuroferret Accepted to UC berkeley but rejected at UCI??

No, my daughter still hasn’t heard!
