***UC Irvine Class of 2022 Applicants***

@Falco322 I’m sorry, but what does UCI have to do with CA gov, other than it’s a California public university? The admin at UCI have nothing to do with how the government is run, lmao. If you hate CA so much, don’t go there, just sayin.

@Falco322 UCI is the only UC school to submit late; all the others submitted on time; so, assuming that we take your (flawed) argument that UC is representative of Cali Government at face value, it would support the opposite conclusion- the CA government is on time, given that the vast majority of UC’s thus far have released decisions on time. And if your going to study in CA, you should learn from some of these posters on CC about being laid back when disaster strikes.

@nerdgirl97 agree with you.

@Falco322 Sounds like you’re a bit salty towards California

But lets change the subject: what was the main thing that made you guys want to apply to UC (apart for great academics and weather lmao)?

for me it was surfing+ being close to home.

@Lyoder2051 You mean to ask apart from paying so much in taxes over the years and not being able to avail the great education that UCs can provide?

far enough for independence, close enough to home in case of homesick or needs in the SF Bay Area

@Lyoder2051 Food variety and closeness to the beach are the biggest factors for me.

@Falco322 I 100% agree with you. It’s getting out of hand in my opinion. Lowkey i’m starting to become irritated with the state so much im considering going to school in Colorado even though I’ll be in debt forever m.

@Lyoder2051 And also just being close to home so I can still hang out with my friends from time to time.

For me pretty much the same as @marcovan Although I’ve never lived outside of Ca, so I also like the idea of experiencing a new state, which is why I applied both in and out of state… still not sure what I’ll choose if I have both as an option.

Um, can we stop complaining about the government?? I mean, I get it, the gov is always doin somethin to piss people off, but that’s for another thread

@Nerdgirl97 @Mitato Agreed! I’m homeschooled (Been my entire life) so going to college will be a very new experience either way, whether in state or out. I’m still waiting for some East Coast colleges but at this point its probably going to be SD. Sorry UCI, but all this waiting isn’t making me think to well of you.

@Lyoder2051 Homeschooled or not, I think college will be a pretty drastic change of pace for all of us regardless of where we go (definitely more so for you), but SD is a great school and I’m sure you’ll do just fine there. If I may ask, what are you majoring in?

@Mitato Right now its Music, although I will probably change that or declare second major. When I started off applications, I didn’t want to do music, but was pretty good at it, so I figured if I applied as a music major to schools that didn’t have an impacted/super competitive music major I would have a better chance of getting in. Thing is, I’ve changed my mind as piano is literally the only thing I enjoy doing … which now puts me in a pretty bad situation (acceptances to good schools with bad music programs). :-S If nothing changes, I’m going to probably take a gap year and apply to Julliard, Curtis, etc.

@Lyoder2051 Oh, that’s definitely an interesting predicament. UCs are definitely very good in many aspects, but I’m not sure how they rank in terms of their music programs haha. Well, best of luck to you!

@Mitato yep :smiley: UCLA is good, but the rest not so much :confused:
