***UC Irvine Class of 2022 Applicants***

Yeah, I probably should have applied at more than 4 but there weren’t any schools I really wanted to get into. I got into SDSU so I’m happy; I haven’t accepted yet because I want to know if I get into Irvine

Believe it or not, 18. Heard back from 14, still waiting on the last 4. 8 offers, 2 wait lists and 4 denials so far.

Who else still its today? Well idk why and i hate to think this but I think its gonna come out today. They would not have said “after march 20th” for no reason. Miss Sun might be right but techinically today is late march too

It would be unreasonable to assume that they don’t have ther desicions made… It’s mid March and they have had since November… They spend …give them the benefit of the doubt 10 minutes per apparently and got 116000 apps…so 1160000 minutes total… Spread across up to 6 reading group… based on major and school… Should take about 4.5 months…why I did this… desperation

@Owls2017 i still think it’s today at 5 PST but who knows

Btw that is conservative estimates…they probably have way more reading groups…and their thurough reading thing…that’s bs…they read the apps onc…and they most likely go off their first impressions of the student…they have 5 to 10 minutes to read the application 2 times…that is horrible…just read it well the first time

Im from pa and i applied to 4 schools. I got into Penn State Univ. and University of Pittsburgh. Both great schools, but tbh those two are FAR down my #1 choice: UCI. I already got rejected to davis so im very anxious. I regret so so much not applying to more UCs like Santa Cruz and Riverside.

@Owls2017 I got rejected from Davis too; it seems like a lot of people did

They also had to have gone through a good amount of apps by February to be able to determine who qualifies for Regents and CHP to release those decisions by late February.

@Lyoder2051 Yeah I definitely agree. Also, given my unique circumstance where I had a very good record besides one major blunder, the availability of 4 essays gives me more flexibility to both explain how I overcame that mistake and address other topics like my community service, leadership, and passion. The common app limits me to only one aspect, which I feel like was detrimental to my circumstance. BUT, whatever at this point. I got UCLA and that’s all that matters to me rn.

Theres a reason to everything, and there must be a reason why UCI said “after march 20th” when they could’ve easily said “late march” with less controversies. I believe its coming out today. Lets hang tight

When text is small, no and one look pretty similar…so I looked into the portal and it looked like it said you have one new message…a d I was getting excited…then I zoomed in and it said you have no new messages

@ParentalPraise I totally agree! These kids have so much more pressure than we did. When I was in school you just practically just had to have a pulse and you got into SDSU. And getting into UCLA required good grades but by NO MEANS what it is now. I remember when my daughter was little and all the pushy moms were competing with each other to see whose kids had more activities and who was better blah blah. All I could think was whoa… these kids are gonna be so burned out on sports and activities. I had no idea that college was going to be like this too. You kids are awesome and I’m happy you are going to run the show one day  just take a vacation after college first so you can recharge your batteries

On this webisite, it says the status is resolved. I remember checking the website a few days ago and I don’t remember the status saying that it’s resolved. Idkk! I think I’m just having false hope at this point :’(

@co2018nur that is saying the issue is reloved not the decisions are out

Ughhh! I’m so done. I give up

I just find it wonderful how UCLA, a school with significantly more applicants, can release decisions before Irvine. I paid $70 to get a yes or no and they can’t figure out of they should admit me or anyone else after having all of our admission details since December 1st? It’s literally mind boggling. First they said early march, now its well into the middle of march and still nothing. Makes me question the university’s ability to do anything in a timely manner. They overadmitted last year so they rescinded 500 admissions. Why did I even apply here? I’ll just go somewhere else that will charge me half the tuition and can stick to their timelines.

In case you are out of state, this is the California government in prime action. Delays combined with more delays, with a sprinkle of affirmative action.

which school is better for biology? UCR or SDSU?
