@SweetCaliforniaWeather-12 , as far as Long Beach, CSULB is 10 mins away from the beach. The city is more vibrant if compared to Irvine, more edgy and have more variety , the city is older so the houses look more unique and not every house look the same like Irvine . However, there are more crimes and some areas can be shady. Around CSULB is a nicer neighborhood.
UCI wants to delay the release of their decisions as much as the March 31 and rolling admissions allows them to so that they have time to analyze and not make the mistake they made last year.
I just can’t imagine myself staying like close to a beach but like almost all colleges are close to one. That’s a plus!

@holeinone23 Last year, UC Irvine was under fire for rescinding 500 admission offers two months before fall term began. UCI started coming up with excuses to solve a problem of 850 more students planning to attend than expected.
@holeinone23 They rescinded 499 acceptances (a lot of them appealed this and got in again eventually)

@SmartGurl17 I don’t think they would be able to necessarily find out how many people actually want to register till May 1. so rolling decisions and delaying the decisions doesnt really help.
All, I can say is that they are double checking and triple checking their numbers and getting approvals from up and down in the approval chain before they release anything.
Also, I guess they want to wait as late as possible so people like me would get frustrated and accept other schools. :))
@uchopeful2022 I agree that the officers want to delay as much as possible so that people will accept other college offers.

Hmmm… Where all have you been accepted @SmartGurl17 ? There will be a free seat in one of those colleges. (as you wouldn’t be accepting till April 31st) 
I think they had more than enough time to recheck and reevaluate everything so that the same mistakes isn’t gonna happen again this year. I don’t care why they’re delaying this, but it’s getting really really annoying. If they are so worried about messing up again why don’t they all get into one impacted room and put all of their brainpower and check everything again, rather than letting a few people check for them.

@UChopeful2022 I didn’t do college tours as a junior, so I need to go during my spring break (2nd week of April). I just feel like I need to think it over and see where I’m comfortable. Also, some admitted students day are like late-April.
@orionary that would be an efficient process. But then again Universities don’t function that way. I am sure there is a good amount of bureaucracy and everything. Simply put, UCI has an egg on their face twice in a row.
@SmartGurl17 Agreed, but I would like to know where I am admitted so I can make an informed decision, set calendar for important dates and once all that is done, enjoy senior year without a worry.
@SmartGurl17 I feel ya. I didn’t do any college visits last year or even this year. I am planning to do the same in April.
UCI probably will come out next month
