@bsmdint@katen1 There is still 2 days of acceptances! (Monday and Tuesday hopefully). Don’t call UCI if you haven’t received your decision until March 31. It’s all random!
well that’s a huge relief but all this waiting is giving me anxiety lol. also a friend of mine got in as undeclared even tho that wasn’t his second option so i guess uc’s can do that if both majors are impacted?
My S was admitted undeclared but he applied for CS. My question is how can I find out if once he meets the requirements to apply to the major there will be space? It is great to be accepted but if he can’t pursue the field that he is interested in then it doesn’t seem like a good fit. I am wondering if we should keep it on his list as an option or not. Thx in advance for your response…I am a first time poster on cc
@beetlejay It may not be possible to change to a capped major as a continuing student. Once you have enrolled in courses at the end of August, you can change to a non-capped major for sure but since CS is capped, IDK.
Btw, I found this on the UCSD website. I heard that you can apply to transfer majors after finishing GE requirements.

@Katen1 UCI admits based on stats, then they see if they can put u in ur first or second choice major. If they admit you based on stats, and can’t offer u admission to ur two majors, then they can put u as undeclared.
@SmartGurl17 if they admit based on stats, then wouldnt uci be fairly easier this year because i have seena couple of applicants get in with decent to below the average stats for uci
@SmartGurl17 ok thx what about software engineering, that was his second major request but he wasn’t admitted there either and that is listed in the school of cs
@SmartGurl17 how is it possible that computer science and engineering has 100% acceptance rate? seems like a reliable source but also rly surprising and doubtful
