@aweinst they accepted way too many people and ended up having to rescind a lot of acceptances
Do you guys think the # of waitlists= # of acceptances this year?
if I submit my waitlist slip and the decision doesn’t come before May 1st- the deadline for most colleges- then what do I do? what if I wait and eventually I don’t get off the waitlist
I’m just hoping someone will say they got accepted soon on this page because all these waitlisted & rejection posts are actually so painful 
Is the portal still updating ? Or if you checked alrdy and didn’t get waitlisted that means no more updates today…?

There will 100% be more acceptances. Yes there will be a huge wave of rejections but don’t lose hope!!!
Just tell me I got rejected already, UCI! STOP WITH ALL THIS TORTURE. I can’t handle it anymore!
I just got waitlisted by UCI with a political science major fyi
wait listed. SAT 1340 out of state, 3.7 GPA with 9 AP classes. Accepted into University of Washington, UCSB, UC Davis. Was not expecting a waitlist from irvine.

there was a time when I actually thought uci would be my backup school :))
Man there are people on here that cured Cancer and are on the “waitlist”! Stick a fork in me I’m done!
I have a 1410 SAT, 3.83 UW and 3.96 weighted. I have done track and field all 4 years, and was co-captain for 2 of them, 4 internships, 2 clubs, and my essays are pretty good. I found out around 7:30pm today
I feel like they blindsided soooo many of their highly qualified applicants. I definitely wasn’t expecting a waitlist from them and I’m truly just disappointed. I get that they messed up last year but they just need a better way to admit the right amount of students the first time through. It just feels like they’re being super picky and selective this year. 
Still no changes for me. I’ve been rechecking
