There would be some type of decision today I’d imagine. I’m unsure though. This system is messed up.

I am old(47) and I know you may or may not listen to me. But…I applied to 1 school because of course I wanted to go to my home town school(FSU)-got rejected. Was devastated. I had great grades, great scores, was 3rd in class out of 465 students, class President all 4 years yada yada yada. So I end up in CC over the summer and decide to do fall there too. Apply at UAB pre-med, get in. THEN, I end up being offered placement in Occupational Therapy a year EARLY because I took those extra classes at Florida A & M(FAMU). So, essentially, I got hugely disappointed. My world got turned upside down, I ended up at 3 entirely different styles of schools, with a 4 year BS in just 3 short years and end up making over $150k/year. Never had a day without job offers. No one ever ask what schools I went to.Ever. YOU CAN DO THIS no matter where you start. It only matters where you finish. My son was also waitlisted here and we accepted it-he will start at SMC this summer in the Scholars Program. We are so excited!
@TheRejectedKid. You are NOT the rejected kid!!! College is only 4years of your life! Be hopeful- God has a plan for you and loves you no matter what you do or don’t do!
I wish we could all talk to each other and comfort one another in real life. Im undergoing a lot of stress with UCI admissions and obviously many of you guys are as well. Just take a breather and check by tomorrow morning, and if you can, check by friday because this is causing a lot of unnecessary stress.

@PenelopeD Nice post. I did my BS in India and MS in South Dakota. Packed my bags after my masters in '83 and moved to California without a job. Have been in bay area since then and at Google right now - so take courage kids. This is only the beginning of your journey. My son wants Cali - so he has LMU, Chapman and Santa Clara University that we have to figure out - UCI would have been great but to heck with this tension and to heck with UC’s - they just sucked my tax money for the last 36 years here

To everyone out there worried because they didn’t get into the colleges they wanted and are equating college acceptance to their personal worth, when I think like that I always remember my dad telling me how he worked for the clothing company BEBE when it was still big and when I worried about only making it to SFSU, my dad told me the ceo of BEBE actually went to SFSU for all of his college education years. My dad would always remind me of that story and talk about how even some of the big leaders and ceos in our world went to “lower tier” colleges and ended up doing amazing things with their lives. It’s not about where or how you get your education, but what you do with it, that’s what matters. Please remember that and chin up everyone. We got this. :-bd

I’ve been following this thread for so long, but I just want to wish you guys all so much love and luck. I know this time has been so stressful, especially with UCI being BEYOND whack this year. It’s really hard to believe, but college truly is a starting point, and I know you all will be fine

I wish I could reach through this computer and hug all y’all! You are SO smart! SO kind! SO talented! The UC’s have switched up things the last couple of years and it is truly unpredictable. I know you all have worked SO hard and you deserve to be rewarded for your dedication and hard work. I know your heart is set on certain schools and your parents and you want to brag about the school but…I am here to tell you that none of that will be what is important long term. You ARE the answer to all the questions you are asking. “What will I do if I don’t get in?” You will do whatever you CHOOSE to do. Find the school that offers your program. Don’t settle for one that won’t offer that to you because you are seriously financially, emotionally, mentally, and physically committing to this school. THEY owe you an excellent education and experience. Demand it. Don’t settle. PLEASE know how incredibly smart you are to even have over the 3.2+ to even think of applying to a UC. GOOD ON YOU.
Hey you guys can apply to KU before April 1 and get in the honors college(maybe)! KU is great I have a friend who will be in the honors college there and they’re heading off to the final four! So if you don’t get into UC and are losing hope. DONT

Hey y’all, quick question, if we had our financial aid evaluated, as in the UCI Financial Aid Office determined that we are eligible or ineligible for need-based aid, is it a sign of being admitted? Because why would the financial aid office evaluate your eligibility for need-based aid if they’re not going to accept you, it would seem unnecessary otherwise. Right?
I mean, I applied for financial aid via FAFSA for all the UCs, the UCs that rejected me never evaluated my eligibility for aid, and the UCs that accepted me ended up giving my eligibility after admittance, so I hope UCI’s evaluation of aid is a sign of admittance… :-SS
Welp, I’m super stressed
On another note, my friend and I signed up for the campus tour on Thursday. 2 of his friends who are still waiting for admissions are tagging along. Do you guys think all notifications will be done by noon Thursday?
