***UC Irvine Class of 2022 Applicants***

@PenelopeD This is so sweet of you! I completely agree–it’s not just the school that matters, but it’s what you do with your experiences that makes you successful :slight_smile: Be proud of your acceptances and rejections alike, because all of us have many chances to shine in the future. Ugh I’m still as nervous as you all, since I’m waiting for a decision too, but have hope! We’ll get through it

And plus I had a couple of friends who got acceptances on Sunday and yesterday, so the process really is random. Good luck everyone! Hopefully we get the good news tomorrow

@musicman98 We were told financial aid award package is not available until mid-April

@MusicMan98 I had that same question too! Cause it wouldn’t make sense for UCI to determine that you are eligible for financial aid if they are not considering you lol. I’ve been having that exact same hope in my mind all day.

@DKPDHS Yes that’s true, but I think @MusicMan98 was wondering why UCI would determine eligibility in the first place if they weren’t considering you. Wouldn’t they just reject your financial aid if they didn’t want you?

@lobster87 getting in Education Sciences is easier than other majors since there aren’t many people that are actually interested in teaching. Don’t assume that I’m generalizing the entire university.

@marchmusic Not trying to dash anyone’s hope but I think UCI has more than it can chew right now. I think they are looking at who to admit first before they are looking at financial aid. So good news is if they are all done admitting they are looking at your financial aid. That’s the IF that we don’t know about

After reading all the super motivational posts, all I’ve got to say is wow you people are truly amazing!

Remember, it doesn’t matter where you go to college, all that matters is what you do when you’re there and ultimately who you become as a person. You can absorb all the information you want in college, but the real test in life is putting that knowledge to work, applying that knowledge to keep yourself afloat and make a difference while you’re at it.
Don’t give up hope!! If things don’t go so well, just know it’s not the end of the world, not even close. Education is what you make of it :slight_smile:

@DKPDHS Yep, completely understandable. And I was thinking the same thing as you were saying, but we like to look at that tiny ray of hope sometimes.

@MusicMan98 Exactly!!! :slight_smile:

@marchmusic Totally understandable. This is my 2nd time around so I have a completely different outlook :smiley:

I have a tour Scheduled for tomorrow but I haven’t heard crap so nope

Don’t feel bad y’all. Just read where David Hogg, one of the spokespeople from Parkland where the shootings took place—he got rejected from 5 UC’s he applied to. Of course all this happened after apps were submitted but you would think they would dig through those apps and push his through. They said UC Irvine rejected him too but helllllooooo no one has had rejections yet=unless they consider being waitlisted a rejection. So, you guys are doing great!

@PenelopeD
David’s stats: GPA 4.2, SAT 1270(according to a several articles)

How hard is it too change major to data science from the college of engineering (EE) at UCI?

Another old guy here. 30+ years ago, I only applied to 2 schools, because I was SO sure to get into UCSB, and this was the only place I ever wanted to go. Grew up in San Diego. (Love the beach) Got rejected. Also rejected from UCSD, and as a complete fool, didn’t apply to any backups. All set to go to a CC. In mid-June, got a letter from UCD, saying that I could have a spot if I wanted it. Turns out that year other UC’s were more popular, and Davis went looking for more students because they were under-enrolled. I had never been to Davis, and could not find it on a map, but gave them my yes anyway. Best decision I ever made in my life. Love the town. Love the school. I will always be an proud Aggie, because they were the school that actually wanted me when others did not. It may be stressful right now, but chin up. You have your whole lives ahead, and things can work out. Get the best education you can, and enjoy life wherever your life takes you. Study hard, and have fun- you have the rest of your life to be old and worry about other adult stuff.

And one little secret I learned over the years- I have found the actual teaching at CSU schools to be superior than at UC’s, even though UC schools have a great academic reputation and are highly ranked on “best schools” lists.

Maybe you wanted to be an Anteater. Maybe you had your heart set on being a Bruin or a Golden Bear, but perhaps you were meant to be a Titan, a Cowboy, or an Aztec instead. Best of luck to all of you!

AHH I’m really hoping I get accepted to UCI. Good luck to everyone still waiting, don’t let the stress get to your heads. We worked super hard so far, just be confident on what you achieved. It’s too late to go back and say “i wish I would’ve done this or that.” If you have that mindset, you’re just going to spiral out of control. Believe in yourself. Good luck!

Hi! If anyone could help me out… UCI or Kelley?

still nothing sadly
