Rejected. I know a lot of people who got in with way lower states… I’m going to appeal but looks like I’m going to Chico to pursue my athletics. I feel so dumb because I’m my classes valedictorian and I feel as if Chico isn’t a good school (nobody take offense please). Anyone have any suggestions? Accepted to Chico, Humboldt, Washington State, Whitworth, Dominican Uni of Cali, and waiting on Berkeley but obvious rejection. I wish I applied to more UC’s. Biochemistry major, pre med. What school would you guys pick? Also, opinions on gap year or community college?
Rejected

Good essays (helped by a former admissions officer)
Accepted CSUN, CSULB

I think I’m gonna appeal.

@Caitlinbailey I mean, “1190 SAT 23 ACT 4.3 UC GPA” is not exactly stellar. Your GPA is amazing though. but your SAT and ACT are not up there. Chico is not a bad school, I’d think you’d do great there.
@Caitlinbailey I’m not too familiar with schools you mentioned…But I’d like to tell you that community college is an excellent option. I remember talking to a college student recently that ended up going to a school that wasn’t his top choice and he said he wished he would have gone to a cc and transferred into a UC. UC’s have excellent programs for transfer students. Plus at a cc you can take a few different classes and discover what really interests you. Go online and look up requirements for transferring to UC’s.
I wouldn’t recommend taking a gap year. You can lose momentum and your mojo. It’s important to keep moving forward IMO. Good luck and stay positive!
