@Owls2017 I meant to say you CAN take classes or semesters at UCB during your time at UCM - they have a partnership beyond the usual UC partnership. UCM is semester system like UCB.
Off to Cal Poly SLO!
@AZNboi15 Congrats - go Mustangs! It’s a great school!
Hey everyone, between Pepperdine, UC Santa Cruz, and UC Riverside Honors which would you pick for Biology (Pre-Medicine)? Pls help.
Gosh this is such a stressful process.
for accepted students, is the irvine facebook page working for you guys?
@MusicMan98 I would go with santa cruz personally
@JUROD211, @Gumbymom, @riceball123. Thank you very much for information re. TAG. It’s very helpful.
Anybody else going to CSUF? I didn’t have a lot of money so I only applied to a couple of UC schools and didn’t get into any
Waitlisted at UCI. UCI is my number one choice for college among all UCs. And that’s the only UC I applied to. I’d like to appeal but I did not have any dip in academic performance and neither did I have any specific medical or family issue condition that impacted my studies. I have maintained straight As through my high school years, including my senior year. I am top 15% ELC for UC and have attended some invites only events for UCI. I have shown my interest in UCI all along. So on what other basis can I appeal?
I’m going to attend Penn state University. But irvine will still remain as my dream school and id do anything to transfer there. What steps should i take in doing so?
@ParentalPraise I somewhat agree. I didnt get into the UC that I wanted but I did NOT consider going to a CC because I got into the CSU system and it’s always a college. if I picked the CC over a college it would be a waste of the opportunity I was given. I know many students didnt manage to get in any college this year and that’s sad but as I said, I have been fortunate enough to get into Cal State colleges, just not UC so I am attending a 4 year college. I dont feel like wasting this opportunity. Also, CC does not guarantee you’ll manage to successfully transfer to your favorite UC. in my case, no CC could guarantee me a successful transfer to UCLA school of film. I can still transfer there when I’m a junior at college, instead of going to a CC. I realize I have a great college out there waiting for me so I’m taking this opportunity and will eventually transfer to UCLA as a junior, my lifetime dream school. no need to go to a CC :))
CC is nt guarantee for transfering to UCLA School of Film, (one of the hardest department to get into) so I’m not taking the risk
You might not be able to appealed if you are waitlisted(included the link below).You should contact the admission office.
Last year my son was in top 9%ELC, but was waitlisted by UCI and my other son who has higher stats than his brother also got waitlisted this year.
@luvpups221 me
@Owls2017 It is not impossible to transfer to UCI from other colleges, but the transfer students from California Community Colleges who use TAG have the top priority over anybody.
Orange is my new favorite color
@Owls2017 I would have loved for my kids to be Nittany Lions, but no way we could swing their out of state tuition. I guess grass always looks greener on the other side! Enjoy that creamery ice cream!
@Owls2017 You will love Penn State. I know lots of people who went there, and I have never met a person who did not love it. Tons of school spirit. Have a great time!
@hoppy1 Thanks for your post. That’s a bummer that your sons with strong stats are getting waitlisted. What major were they waitlisted for? Did either of them appeal and get in?
I was planning to appeal based on ‘Appeal to Selection decision’. I will follow up with admissions office as well.
