EC: Barely any, but made an improvement by joining mentoring children (something I always wanted to do), and represented a program at a library
My own personal challenge: speaking disorder.
Low income, first gen, first in fam, only child, parent have serious health issue, unemployment and all that stuff.
Essays: wrote my entire heart out describing my own life and my OWN personal achievements that doesn’t involve any trophies or medals or whatever.
Not everything is about gpa and sat and EC/volunteer and trophies and medals. In the next 30 years or so those won’t even matter. What matters is how you improve your life, knowing that you’re on the right path to succeed, and supporting your community, and most importantly supporting yourself. IMO. But, seeing all of you having high test scores and doin so many things make me jealous. I’m just blessed to have the right mindset and know I’ll do better in the future.

@dippledapper I applied to LA as political science, SD as political science-international relations, Davis as Computer Science. I also mainly wrote about some hardship I experienced in my freshman year and how my worldview changed from what I experienced.
Would UCI release decisions on a Saturday?

If they installed an automatic release system like UCSC then maybe. Highly doubt it.

Hi, I just have a question to ask! I got rejected by UCLA, UCD, and UCSD. I only got accepted by UCR. I’m still waiting for UCI (like all of you, hehe), UCB, and UCSB. I was wondering, what are my chances for UCI and UCB? UCB is my dream school but now I’m scared since I didn’t make it into UCD, UCSD, and UCLA. What are my chances for UCI? I’m so terrified and anxious!

@oopsycorgi You never know until you hear back. My friend last year was rejected from UCD but accepted to UCB for “Inclined to Computer Science”.
Wait UCs don’t send out decisions during weekends right?

same! my dream school is UCB but I got rejected from UCLA, waitlisted at UCSD. I’m extra worried bc I put down cs as my major except UCB. I’m dying rn.
