@E46M3Enthusiast is that true that ucsd only accepted 5,000?
2000 kids r puppets to be messed around with for trial and error. >:P
is 3 PST today for UCI even a possibility?
@nikkicoco18 To clarify, I believe UCSD expects to enroll around 5300 students. They have likely admitted approximately 25,000 to 30,000. This is based on their historical yield rate of about 20%. Their admit rate will likely still be at an all time low because record number of students are applying as noted in ProfessorPlum 168’s comment.
@keeks2018 I don’t think UCI will realease admission decisions on a weekend. They’ll probably come out between monday and wednesday.
well your major sure explains why davis waitlisted you, compsci is suuuper impacted
@ProfessorPlum168 so true, but many Non-Asians want Y2K babies; Asain want Dragon baby. Year 2000 was the year of golden dragon which is viewed as the best Chinese zodiac. Very competitive and strong will.
Omg that’s so true. I got a a majority Asian school and a lot of my friends said they were born because their parents wanted a child in the year of the dragon.
Wait guys is it a good sign if the portal still has all the stuff like change of major buttons? Bc my UCSD one didn’t and i got rejected sooo
@jackandwinnie I think everyone has the option to request change of major rn. Could be wrong tho.
For UCI i do not have the option to change my major, I tried to and didn’t let me because they are already processing or whatever the applications. I think that applies for everybody
I mean the link to change the major is there in the portal but if you click it and try to do it, it won’t let u
@jjkmom yes, very true, so many wanted Y2K including me. The best year to apply for college probably would have been the 1998 kids, ie 2 years ago. Few Chinese parents want kids to be born in the year of the Tiger, because Tiger is a homonym for the word “hardship” or “bitter” (in Cantonese not Mandarin).
Wait really mine takes me to a change of major request and a list of other things i can do like submit a bad grade report or change in schedule how about you guys??
@jackandwinnie My UCSD portal didn’t had the change my major request either and I got accepted.
@jackandwinnie it does do say that but once you actually click “change my major” it takes you to another page and states that major changes are closed
you ninehazard
Did any of you not receive the “we got your financial aid app” in email?
It’s official. We’ll get our admission decisions the 20th.
@Volatyl Is it actually official?
