Has anyone received rejection letters yet? Still waiting on that, sadly.
Congrats to you guys who recently got off the waitlist. I told you guys that itâs not over until UCI says itâs over. Some of you just got off the waitlist on 07/21/25. UCI has only completed 3 out 10 SPOP (Student Orientation) which included class registration over the past weekend. Not long ago I was waiting, praying and hoping to get off the waitlist like you guys, so I know how you guys are feeling and thatâs why Iâm hanging around this forum to spread some hope that you would get off the waitlist like other students and me. maybe they are closing today?
UC Irvine didnât start accepting students off the waitlist until June, unlike the other UCs which started in mid to late April, so I donât think theyâll be closing their waitlist that soon. You have a better chance of getting off the waitlist at Irvine than the other UCs. Good luck everyone.

It was actually early May, but I agree, they havenât closed the waitlist yet.
Sorry youâre right, Irvine started admitted off the waitlist early May. The other UCs, other than Berkeley started admitted off the waitlist list a lot earlier, some as early as late March mostly out of states and international students though. Good luck everyone, sorry for the mishap, itâs been a long tiresome summer.

does uci allow appeal from waitlist rejection?
UCI has in the past, allowed denied waitlisted students to file an appeal but it is always best to confirm with admissions.
Wondering if I should contact them and ask for when we might get an answer by. Donât know if it would hurt my admissions decision though
It wouldnât hurt your admissions. And I doubt they would really help - all theyâll say is that it hasnât closed yet. Thatâs what they said when I called back in the beginning of June.

At this point, it may just be a soft rejection, like Davis did
According to UCI (Student Orientation & Fall Class Registration) SPOP schedule, its SPOP 7 will take place on Aug 6-7 and the last SPOP 10 is scheduled to take place on August 21-22. For applicants who had accepted the acceptance offer and submitted their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR), they would have to attend 1 of UCI SPOPs and register their Fall classes. UCI will most likely rescind the acceptance offers from those admitted applicants who did not attend UCI SPOP and register for Fall classes. Soon after that last SPOP 10 date of Aug 21-22, we can assume that UCI would know exactly how many more applicants will get off the waitlist if there are no show to SPOP and register for Fall classes or last minute withdrawal of acceptance due to emergency or other personal reasons, and it would most likely be the last wave of admits from the waitlist It is simply my reasoning regarding when is the last wave of admit from the waitlist if and only if UCI still needs to fill up the available seats. UCI Fall instruction begins on Sept 25. Good luck to all of you who are still on UCI waitlist!

Still am praying for Irvine as of right now. Realistically wonât get off waitlist, but am committed to UCSC and will do a UC to UC transfer in 2 years

I donât know how much of this is true. but when I called them a few days ago, they hinted at the fact that it could be all released this week. and when I asked âwould we know by August 16 or mid-August for sure,â they said yes. they were also alluding to the fact that some spots have not yet been filled. so maybe a wave this Friday or Saturday?

UC to UC transfer is way harder than Community College to UC because of the Master Plan that gives the transfer priority to community college students first.

Per your info from UCI, that would be possible and make sense too because admitted applicants need to pre-register for the mandatory SPOP session (UCI Student Orientation & Registration), so UCI already has a good idea of how many will attend SPOP, register for Fall classes and attend UCI this Fall and how many spaces will be available for the applicants on the waitlist. That way the applicants who will get off the waitlist as the last wave of admits this Friday can attend 1 of the last 3 remaining SPOP sessions and wouldnât miss a beat. UCI last 3 SPOP sessions are scheduled to take place as follows:
SPOP 8: Tuesday, August 12 â Wednesday, August 13,
SPOP 9: Saturday, August 16 â Sunday, August 17, and
SPOP 10: Thursday, August 21 â Friday, August 22.
Keep up your last hope alive guys and gals! Keep those dates open to attend UCI SPOP just in case you are going to get off the waitlist soon. Best of luck to you all who are still on the waitlist! Hope to see you all this Fall at UCI!

hopefully they release something tmrw. if rejections come out, lets say mid august and i appeal, would there be enough time to schedule classes and figure everything out?
