My cousin wants to do accounting and will be a senior next fall. He has about 3.5 UW GPA. Have no idea what weighted GPA is. He got 1800 on his SAT’s. I think he has a good chance at UC Riverside, and a low chance at UC Irvine and Cal Poly. He is a treasurer in a club. What do you think his chances are at each of these schools, and how would you rank the schools in terms of accounting? He can only afford to go to UC’s and CSU’s, no private colleges.

If he has completed the course requirements and takes the Sat II 's (for class of 2011), I think he will get into Riverside.

If he is from LA and wants to stay local, try CSU Long Beach, If he can afford stay on campus, try San Jose State. I’d say Cal Poly is possible, but I think San Jose State has a better accounting program.

Anybody think he has a shot at UC Irvine and Cal Poly SLO for accounting?

yes, i really do. if he retakes the sat and try to get around 2000. It is matter of work with those prep classes.

Cal Poly Profile. The don’t count writing.

<a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions;

So which college do you guys think is better for accounting UC Irvine or Cal Poly SLO?

Which is the better overall college, UC Irvine or Cal Poly SLO?
Anybody?

I think you don’t have to worry about either schools, they should be equally good. It is Ur grades at the school more important. If you get good grades, you will get into the Big 4, no problem.
I used to work in the world headquaters of KPMG for 10 years, had access to all employee records. The first year accountants were from all colleges. They came from NYU and Columbia as well as CCNY, SUNY, Pace or Iona (I did not pay much attention to the CA schools). Once they were there, the work is all the same.
