I did not get into any UC’s my senior year of high school, and my pride unfortunately influenced me to pick my last resort state university over community college. I am really miserable, I hate this school, and I am also afraid that having this university on my transcript will reflect negatively on my medical school application. I have earned straight A’s for my first quarter, and I am also involved in a medical internship. Are there any UC’s such as UCSD, UCI, or UCR that may accept me as a lower division transfer considering my circumstances?
If you are getting A’s at your current school, why transfer? Medical schools want a high GPA and high MCAT scores and it appears that you have access to a medical internship, so you should be fine. Regarding lower division transfers, some UC campuses will accept them if there is room and that is a big IF. If you did not apply for this year’s admission cycle, by the time you apply next year, you should have enough units 60 semester/90 quarter by Spring 2017 to qualify as a upper division transfer.
