Did anyone receive an email today about being offered Uc Merced w/o having applied there?

If your student is ELC eligible and not admitted to any UC’s of their choice, their UC application is automatically referred to UC Merced for consideration with no application fee.
The referrals are sent in April, however this year UC Merced was targeting students earlier so applicants received information to apply for free in December/January.
