Hello everyone, I need your advice as to whether or not I should complete my biological science major at UCM or UCI. I understand the instant/obvious answer may be UCI however the lack of “things” to do at UCM does not worry me. My main focus is to achieve a high GPA and MCAT score since I have been told those are the two important determining factors for medical school. That being said would you recommend UCM for a premed student?

Although many UCM students are bio majors, UCI has an excellent bio program and I would honestly recommend that you go there.

Go to UCI, don’t make the biggest mistake of your life.

I’m going to UC merced for bio sciences and am thinking of going into the medical field, and I recommend UCI. UCM has great potential, but UCI is an established UC with science programs, which would be a greater asset for you. I don’t think that UCM would be the “biggest mistake of your life” however. That’s much to hyperbolic a description, but I do recommend UCI. Good luck to you, whichever decision you make.

go to UCI, I started UCM as a bio major before realizing med school wasn’t for me. UCM is a fine school but its nothing compared to UCI.
