Hi, I just began writing my personal statement for the UC application, and I know that it seriously sucks right now, but can someone please read it and give me any suggestions? Thank you so much!

Describe the world you come from — for example, your family, community or school — and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

My name is ________. I am currently a high school senior seeking to be accepted as a freshman at one of the UC universities. __________________________________________________________________.
There were plenty of worlds that helped shape my physical and mental aspects of who I am over the years, some including my family, schools, and community. But the most influential one, however, would have to be the world of Boy Scouts.
Boy Scouts opened up many possibilities that I have never known before. Back in that time, I was an immature 12-year-old who thought that gaming was the only thing that I needed in this vast world. Boy Scouts, on the contrary, focused on developing the inner maturity that rests inside of you through challenging activities such as camping, rock climbing, rope knotting, and so on.
When I first joined, I realized that there were boys with the same interests that I had in my troop, which helped me get along with lots of my fellow Scouts. From that point on, I learned social skills, communication skills, and mature life skills that I would have never learned without Boy Scouts. As an Eagle Scout, I could seriously tell the difference between when I first joined and when I earned the rank of Eagle.
For example, surviving on my own for 3 days in the wilderness is something that I have not dreamt of doing. When I have begun this ordeal for the first time, I was so scared and so helpless that I was about to request to the scoutmaster to send me home. But, as time passed, I found camping to be amusing, interesting, and fun, but tiresome. Although several tasks needed to be done, overall, if done correctly, camping can help one establish life skills significant to a man’s life.
In addition, Boy Scouts has also helped eliminate some of the shyness that has affected my social life for “eternity”. Boy Scouts has a rank system in which a Scout can earn a rank by completing requirements with one of the senior members of the troop. Doing so required me to speak to individuals that I have never spoken to before. Speaking to strangers has enabled me to vastly improve my communication with other people outside my comfort zone, all thanks to Boy Scouts.
Also, Boy Scouts has helped me shape my vision for the future. As a career, I wish to build something that will help make young individuals’ lives easier and more fun than ever before, like a floating board or an electronic device. Without Boy Scouts, the person that I am now would not have ever existed.
