I’ve started filling out the UC transfer application for Fall 2012 and when I get to the “Other Academic History” section, this message shows:

If I received a 4 on both the AP English Language and AP English Literature exams, does that cover this two-course requirement?

Also, if I am applying to Haas and UCLA BizEcon (as well as UCI and UCSD), do I just completely disregard these requirements and just follow what the Assist articulation agreements say? For example, Haas requires ENGL 100 and 101 but accepts the AP Lang or Lit exam to fulfill ENGL 100 (I was waived out of ENGL 100 which is why I’m only taking ENGL 101).

On the other hand, according to the articulation agreement, UCLA only requires one English composition course for the BizEcon major. I am also aware that Haas does not require IGETC to be fulfilled, but now I am more confused with all this conflicting information.

I guess all of the above can be boiled down to this one question: what takes precedence, the IGETC/general UC requirements or the requirements for the specific major/school we are applying to? Please clarify! Thanks in advance.

P.S. I am also TAG-ing to UCSD. Is the above message solely referring to UCSD’s TAG requirements?

Looking to an answer for this as well, but I’m for the math section. I got AP credit for MATH 103 and don’t know what I should put for this section…

Edit:

Found the answer on the side.

What if I am using AP credit to fulfill the transferable course requirements?

Enter this information in the Additional Comments area.

The thing is, I’m thinking about dropping ENGL A101H this semester and taking it in the spring because it’s getting very hard to balance school and working 25 hrs/week at my internship.

That means I’m okay, right? As long as I explain in the Additional Comments section that I’ll be using both AP Lang and AP Lit exams to cover my two English requirements (what iMunster referred to above).

^^UCSD Tag states that: “Both of the UC English courses and the UC math course must be completed by the end of Fall 2011, prior to Fall 2012 admission.”

So, if you satisfy the both English requirements with those AP then you should be fine
