I know people who were waitlisted or denied

Thank you. I have not seen anyone post here but just saw some individuals posting on other sites about denials and waitlists.

Congratulations! Was the scholarship information in the admissions letter, or elsewhere on the portal? Thanks!

when i clicked off the acceptance letter it showed me the scholarship with a button to accept it. Kinda weird because other schools haven’t been like that.

My daughter was rejected from UCR yesterday, then got an email today saying there was an update in her portal. The message in the portal basically said, oops, our bad, we meant to waitlist you. Seriously? We’re happy she’s not actually rejected, but this process is hard enough on the kids without these kinds of mistakes!

“The number of applicants was also boosted by student interest in UCR’s new major in business analytics at the School of Business, which received 5,110 applications in its inaugural year.”

This is a quote from the UCR press release attributing some of the increase in applications to the addition of this new major.

My son was accepted for his second choice major but then got an email saying there is space available so now he is accepted for his first choice ..

My son was accepted last Feb 28 and received an invite yesterday to apply for University Honors Program. Is this invite sent to everyone?

Don’t know about everyone, but my student got the same

My kid got into UCR at 2 pm pacific on February 28th, I think. Just a data point. Gumbymom knows all.

this is serious goof up. what are her stats?

Stats are mixed because her school is unusual. She attends high school and community college at the same time. High school GPA is 3.9 UW, but college GPA (73 credits) is 3.1, which makes her overall GPA low compared to most of the other freshman applicants. I’m not necessarily surprised she was waitlisted, just annoyed by them sending a rejection first, then correcting it. She did get into UCSC today  so that’s a relief.

We toured UCSC, it’s so beautiful. Your kid will be so happy there!

Daughter

She hadn’t intended to apply to UCR, but they emailed her requesting that she do so, and waived the app fee as an enticement.

anyone else never get an acceptance package? i was really looking forward to one :slightly_frowning_face:

Like in the mail? We did not get one from any of the UCs. I don’t think they do that. Kid got some swag at the open houses though.

i found out you can request to see your admissions file for other UCs. has anyone tried that for UCR? i emailed the registrar to request to see mine
