UC Riverside Transfer Fall 2016

I’ll probably end up going to ucr since it’s the closest to home, so if anyones interested in a workout partner preferably early in the AM around 7 let me know

i started lifting like 4 months ago, but it’s going well I used to just like swim and hike.I go 5/6 days a week and hit each body part once, but arms twice and usually do 3x10 increasing the weight on each set. I do all the big compound movements squats, benchpress, deadlift, stuff like that and other things too, I usually get in about 5/6 exercises per muscle group. Just some of my movements are limited because of a screwed up rotator from water polo

@grinchmeup but yeah, I don’t try to lift anything I cant handle loll

Apparently ucr has a new rec center too i’m interested to see it, but yeah i’ll hit you up

lol I’m too skinny for lifting, I only do cardio :frowning:

@grinchmeup They emailed me the contract that I signed online, I don’t have to physically go there.

Yeah, but i still can’t believe they don’t accept visa cards, which is the most commonly used card there is.

@dgrenas793 thank you so much for the help!!

So would on campus housing be all filled by now or do I have time to wait on the decisions of other UCs

Any engineering majors still waiting for a response?

I have the same problem as well, still waiting for UCI decisions.

I already SIR for riverside (in case of getting wait listed for housing) but if I do get accepted to UCI I’m going to have to withdraw

I SIR’d for UCR as well… however during one of the sessions/workshops on Highlander Day - particularly, the one called “Now That You’re Admitted…(Transfer)” - one of the attendees asked the Admissions rep about this exact issue - and the rep said that the other UCs are notified/aware if you end up submitting a SIR to a UC campus, since they are all on the same application system.

And then yet another student asked a similar question (either because she wanted to confirm or she walked in late) and the rep once again reiterated what I just wrote.

Definitely true! I SIR’d UCR last month and then a week later got accepted to UCSC. The only downside is that you lose the $100 dollar deposit if you retract your SIR :stuck_out_tongue:

Does anyone know if Riverside has anyway of talking to/meeting other admitted students. I know UCSC has a Facebook app and a groupme chat. UCSB has the Facebook app too I think.

@futureeechick I don’t think there is any group chat for UCR transfer student. I’m not sure.

I mean that’ll help us get to know and meet more other transfer students before fall semester start.

I’m down to start one if anyone wants to join.

@futureeechick - there are a few UCR only groups on Facebook but you do need to have a @ucr.edu email account to validate your affiliation for Facebook.

I’ve joined a few of them already - pretty handy to find housing (if Glen Mor doesn’t find a spot for me) or used books, etc.

Would’ve liked to meet some of you at Highlander Day though! Anyone going to UCI’s open house this weekend?

I’m down to join

@Eterion where can I sign up for the open house?
