@dgrenas793 - there’s only four people in the group
@Eterion yes because it was just started yesterday. and at that point it was just one person. So I would say we are growing wonderfully.
Its just a place for transfers to join if they are interested. There’s not alot of resources for transfers on campus so figured why not start somewhere.
@dgrenas793 - 300% is definitely a great start!
And yea, there aren’t many resources for transfers. There’s Transfer day later this month for CHASS students, but it’s not like I live next door to UCR, so I’m still debating whether to make the drive or not. It’s not required like orientation is.
@Eterion yeah just by talking to the people in the group I learned some thing I wouldn’t have.
The transfer day is for all majors but yes you separate into groups.
You know if joined the group it would be a lot easier to discuss these things. #justsaying.
I got into UCR this morning for Business Econ!
So happy!
@G110G0 - Congrats! I guess they are notifying applicants early for those spots that are opening up. I always tell friends this is why it’s a good idea to reject an admissions offer rather than wait, so other people waiting can get in.
@awrecks Did you have any club or extracurricular activities? Internships or jobs?
Anyone else get a mail today about a reminder to take a UCR math placement test? UGH! I completed Stats at my CC, but now I’m dreading a placement test because I don’t do well with those. Afraid I’ll end up in remedial math or something since you know, my last math class was STATS, not Algebra or whatever. here’s to hoping UCI admits me off their waitlist since Stats from my CC will satisfy my math reqs for UCI
URGENT! Anyone here know how to appeal to UCR? I got in as bus econ major but would prefer bus admin(1st choice)
@Eterion More than likely a mistake. Stats fulfills all math requirements.
It might just be a generic message. Check in my ucr and look under your my tests tab. It should tell you if you need to take the tests or if you have a transfer course that satisfied it.
Wrong umberial. Stats does not fulfill math at UCR for psychology majors to get a ba. Not a generic message for those like myself in psychology. Get wrecked.
Thanks Eterion. It’s good to be back.
SIR’d to UCI and rejected my offer to riverside. hopefully someone from the waitlist can get in now.
I checked MyUCR and here’s the message I get =( :
All students declaring majors in the Bourns College of Engineering, the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, and many in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences are required to take the Math Advisory Exam (MAE) unless you have transferrable college level credit for a course in precalculus or calculus.
UGH. Precalc!!! I thought I was done with Math after Stats (which is like taking a foreign language class).
Under FAQ - “What can exempt me from taking the placement exam?”
@wrongumberial Ah thanks, Rueben, didn’t realize Eterion was a psychology major. Glad someone was paying attention so closesly!
Who’s Reuben
Yo are there any Computer Engineers or Electrical Engineers here?
We have some sort of engineer in our group. Forgot which one she is but yeah. Join UCR transfers and you’ll see;)
