UC Riverside VS Chico State-Where would you go?

<p>So, I got into Monterey state, San Jose state, chico state, and uc riverside. </p>

<p>the decision is between chico and riverside. Chico seems like it would be way more fun but Riverside would offer me the chance to transfer to UC Santa Cruz after 1 year. </p>

<p>Where would you go??</p>

<p>Riverside is not a good area as far as social life and bad smog. Chico has a really nice campus and college town. I don’t know which one has the major that your into but I wouldn’t like Riverside. I hear that it’s not easy to transfer from a state school to a UC but you can if you do well at a Jr. College.</p>

<p>Go to 2-year community college and then transfer to a higher tiered UC if you are not sure. I know a lot of students do that since they are not sure.</p>

<p>I’m going to Chico. It’s a nice school. Answer this question, do you want the college life? Juco isn’t going to have that and you’ll probably have to drive to school, at Chico biking is probably your only transportation as everything is close and bike friendly. Me personally, I wouldn’t wait and try to get into my dream school, colleg eis what you make of it and if you do well in school it won’t really matter where yuo go. I’d say you would have more fun at Chico than a community college.</p>

<p>How do you get to transfer to UC Santa Cruz after 1 year. I thought the receiving school had to accept you only if they send you a deferred acceptance letter.I was told they do not accept Sophomores and that the only way to transfer is with a transfer agreement from a JC.</p>

<p>This is a no brainer. You do not turn down a UC school for a CSU unless its a money issue.</p>

<p>If you are going to go to a CSU then go to San Jose State, which is a very good school, but you should go to Riverside. People who speak negatively about it, do so out of rumor and ignorance. It is ranked #89 IN THE NATION, higher than Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, etc</p>
