UC S.I.R (intent to register) questions!!!

Hi,
I was beginning to complete my S.I.R but then they asked some things about residency and don’t know if my answers will affect my admission :S.

I am a U.S citizen and resident for more than 5 years. I studied 2 years at a community college, but completed my High school in Mexico.

So in the questioin that says: Have you been physically present in California for the last 3 years, excluding brief absences for vacation purposes? Answer no if you attended school or accepted employment outside of California during the last 3 years.

… they don’t let me answer “yes”
and then on another question I have to answer that “no” i did not complete high school in the U.S

…so what’s going to happen :S? Will I be denied? please help I’m afraid to complete it since I don’t want to be denied acceptance.

as far as I know, it shouldn’t affect your admissions but it might affect how much your tuition is going to be.

But why should it be affected if I have been living here and I attended community college?

To be a CA resident you need to establish a few things out of a list (which you’ve probably done if you’ve been living here for 5 years)… registering to vote, paying CA taxes, CA bank account, lease, then some other adult stuff can be proof (filing for divorce, buying property, prob investments or something). This also gets more complicated if you’re still a dependent. Did you finish HS within the last 3 years?

You’re doing SLR not SIR. SLR is statement of legal residency, worst case scenario you have to pay a non-in state tuition rate which is tons more $$$$. You won’t get rescinded over this. And you will probably pay in state tuition rates if you lived here the past few years here in California and have legal residency established…
